But the thing is, we try to...but even our own supporters aren't happy because "were doing it wrong" apparently....nothing is ever good enough
You seriously cant sit there and say we have got too many things right , and I'm not just talking since 2010 , it goes back way further than that , at least they got the Disco right after Moorabbin games

Oh f-ck i have heard it all now , Want to give me one , just one serious reason why people want us to be irrelevant , no not just made up stuff or thoughts that are in your head , what do the AFL have to gain by making us irrelevant .
Do you think they want us out the league so they can pump 50mil a year into a Darwin or Canberra team each year .
Sorry if i sounded harsh but the amount of poor us , everyone is against us Bla Bla Bla is constant on here, sooner or later the Rose coloured glasses brigade need to remember that it is mainly the clubs doing where we are at now and stop blaming others and before others come at me and say I'm not a supporter because i disagree with a some of the things that the club has done over the years i have still supported this club for 50 years
One reason? I’ll give you three:
1. Because if we are atop the ladder and have to play the marquee slots TV audiences will be lower than if it is, say, Cartlon or Essendon are atop instead.

2. Because if we are atop and our games are at Marvel the crowds are Les than if an Mcg club is top.

3. If we are atop rather than, say Gold Coast, then the game will be growing less in expansion markets requiring further AFL money in those states and or meaning the return in money invested is less.

All of those go to executive bonuses. Now whether or not there is a concerted effort to keep us down or not is another matter, but those are just some reasons.

I'm looking forward to Ross' response tonight.
Do you really think Ross will give an honest answer or will he get all cryptic and talk in riddles as per normal ? This is a serious question

Why would he give any information about Wilkie supposedly being upset in a public forum. He will rightly just say he hasn’t heard that and all performances and expiring contracts are subject to periodic review, as is the list structure.

Anything more would send nitwits delirious with determination to over react to clickbait articles. It really doesn’t take much to convince some people to tear each other apart.

Don’t feed the troll!

When why haven’t Essendon and Carlton been given unfair advantages in order to kick start their rebuilds? They’ve been worse than St Kilda has been.

None of those 3 mean anything. The AFL isn’t trying to hold St Kilda down, we are doing it to ourselves. The AFL wants every team to have their moment in the sun.

I don’t think Wilkie aired this, and I suspect he wouldn’t be very happy that it got out. For him to air his grievances to his manager is normal, and all players would do it.

I’d say the manager is the one who leaked this.

I keep picturing Wilkie's manager like this:

"I can't divulge my client's secret distaste for SOS and everything he stands for"

Do you think the Melbourne win was a literal deal with the devil?

"We'll give you this meaningless midseason win to plant false hope in the future of the club, but in exchange we rip you apart from the inside a month later"

Yes, everything is so equal with the AFL and their treatment of teams. Just look at the stadium deals for one thing. Essendon literally have written into their Docklands contract that they have to have the most favourable deal. They own the merch shop there that you purchase saints stuff from. They are repeatedly given so called blockbusters at the MCG that they make hundreds of thousands of dollars more than a game at Docklands. Something crazy like 70% or our match day profits come from our one or two MCG matches.

The academy picks and father sons that naturally advantage historically better clubs are entirely disproportionate and unfair, yet nothing has been done about it because it expands the interstate market and increases the likelihood that big clubs climb back up the ladder.

If all of this means nothing then nothing means anything.

Ok mate

Ok boys and girls, today is my birthday AND it’s a Tuesday… Ross on Footy Classified… surely the stars are aligning to have Nas sign four years today. After all, today is the 12th of the 8th and 12-8 =4 MORE YEARS 🥴

(Spending my birthday refreshing this thread only to be disappointed, that’s so St Kilda…)

It does all mean nothing, given the equalization measures. That’s why St Kilda gets a larger share of money from the AFL, to make up for stadium differentials.

Happy birthday!

And now that you mention it, yes the planets are aligning...

So we think Wilkie and the other players all have an idea of what is happening with details of the NAS, Windy deals?
I don’t.
Honestly, piss right off Young Gun #6 - done with your stupid sarcastic laughing emojis.
Reported.
