Why all the Battle dissing? Here's a very good backman and a required player for us.
He made our backline and team better.
To say Tauru is better is fine, but based on what? He has potential and that's it.

With Battle we were chances for the 8. Without, we are struggling.
Personally, don’t miss him an ounce.

And rookie list. That said if you are stacked with good players those guys probably don't get much of a go and a reminder to keep an eye on alternative pathways.
Wilkie doesn’t get a gig if Robo doesn’t have his issues

Ro doesn’t get a gig if Longer or hicky make it.

Sincs…. Well I think Sincs makes it regardless

What do people think of the midfield mix in the senior team moving forward? Garcia and Boxshall are promising but still really raw imo and both might be better served developing the offensive side of their game at Sandy for a while. I've always thought our midfield appears to function better with Hunter Clark in there but not sure if that still applies now we've got Macrae.

I actually think Steele could be an effective forward as he gets on, obviously elite tackling and pressure plus a lovely kick generally with some time and space. Wouldn't mind him rotating 50/50 with Phillipou. Windy ? no idea where his best position is.
1 of Pou, NAS or Owens in there at all times is what I want to see.

They've got 3 of the top 10 in the academy again this year including the number 1 pick which they'll get for rubbish picks again.
It's pretty crazy looking at their draw too. The AFL clearly wants them to be playing finals. Compare it to ours, even our game against them next week they get a massive break. There's just so many small ways they've been looked after with the draw.

Yeah the corporation has been pumping millions into the northern states. They want return on their investment. And they don't care at the expense of the rest of the comp. It's code conversion.

Marshall probably would have pushed in regardless. We had Marshall, Pierce, Holmes, Hickey and Longer all at once.

Pretty sure Wilkie would have been considered injury cover and played every games since being recruited.

When does eamon get here?
Sometime in June I believe; after he finishes his Leaving Certificate.

In the meantime, don’t worry about debating whether it’s St Kilda or Saint Kilda. Just go for Kilda 😃

They can only have so many players on the list. We should be looking to pick some off. Alex Davies probably one that could be picked off.

Gruzewski at GWS is one I'd chase over Leek Aleer even. Wardius from them too. He's a gun forward, not tall but plays a bit like Membrey.

The midseason guy I really want is Donovan Toohey from Coburg. Good kick and a high production mid type, still young too.

Which is why we should raid their depth players
Imagine we had 3 top 10 draft picks every year for the last 10 years.
It's funny when you look at our list from the last 10 years before 2022 none of our top players came from the national draft. Our best 22 is mainly made up of 2nd round pick trades and beyond. Only in the last 3 years we started drafting top end talent. But our ability to do that was still restricted under the rules.
It's incredible we haven't been on the bottom of the ladder for more than we were this last 10 years.

I wonder what's going to happen when the AFL add compromised drafts on top of northern academies. Will there be any draft picks left or do the other teams just have to deal with the expansion teams and fight over their scraps to inject some talent over the next 10 years.

I don't think we'll have a mid season pick this year.

Probably one of the worst decisions ever - and that’s saying something at this club.

But, but…. Leadership 🙄

Shouldn’t be shocked by his looking after a mate though because that’s exactly what the AFL did when they dumped Lethlean on us.

Sooner we get rid of any debt and/or reliance on the AFL the better.

Listening to the media, the general public and the clubs appear to be getting pretty fed up with AFL governance and decision-making right now - not sure if anything will change though.
