Funny you mention that as this came up on my Facebook feed yesty. I think most people (and I certainly was, until pretty recently) are completely oblivious to just how many peeps with serious psychological disorders- like psychopathy, sociopathy and narcissism- are all around us in society. Nor how to deal with them effectively.Done plenty of those sort of things, and no-one other than the psychopaths that seem to occupy the CEO seats of a lot of corporations seem to actually like them. Most people prefer something simpler, and just enjoy the better class of booze being served.

I agree. The the club should ease up for a while. The whinging never ends
Likely his choice, if he keeps playing well he'll be getting paid much more in 2 yearswould've liked a longer contract
Don't think I implied the manager wasn't doing his job.Nas job to set himself up for life after football, why should he take 1.4 when TDK is getting 1.7 and Rowell was offered 2mill. Much better player than those 2
His manager has done nothing wrong apart trying to get the best deal for his client
Don't know how NWM escapes criticism here and it is all the managers fault.
If it is not about money why is he waiting to sign?
All the talk is squeezing every cent out of the Saints.
To me that is about money and to make the excuse it is all Williams fault is a cop out. NWM can say this minute, 1.4 x 2 is enough, let's get it done, but hadn't.
The manager is doing his client what is best financial and NAZ would take his advice, but also the manager would have to do what his client wants.
Not all and good to assign blame to only one party when there are two involved.
Think I am up to the anger stage of grief.
Yeah, was aware of the 20% number. The lack of empathy and ability to fake sincerity and throw people under the bus as needed have been cited previously as traits that help achieve corporate success.......worked once with a guy that got away with embezzling $250k in 3 years, and still denied it as they were showing him the books that proved his guilt!! Treated his subordinates like personal servants, and lied through his teeth with a straight face every time he opened his mouth...... a year later I read the first report on corporate psychopaths, and he could have been their case study!Funny you mention that as this came up on my Facebook feed yesty. To be fair i did say its a stupid story all the way around.
I think the angle is that weve misread what Nas values, he doesnt want to be wined and dined and given wristys by creepy old white dudes just give him his 2m a year and let him spend it on his family and building orphanges in third world countries etc.
AGAIN, its a stupid ****in story but painting the indigenous kid from the backwaters of the bush as being uncomfortable in the rich white surroundings and the saints "not getting it" is the obvious angle to me.
Exactly. If this was a situation where we had a bottomless pit of money then it would be fair enough for Nas to try to squeeze every dollar he can out of us, but every dollar he does squeeze out of us is a dollar we then don’t have to offer to other blokes, who could HELP NAS BE PART OF A PREMIERSHIP!Don't know how NWM escapes criticism here and it is all the managers fault.

Yep sociopathy is almost a requirement at the very top end of town. No sane person could do what they have to do lolFunny you mention that as this came up on my Facebook feed yesty. Excellent summation.I think it is - Scenario 3 says he wants to get traded, but only if a fair deal can be reached behind closed doors.
Port will be scrambling to find a way, but eventually NAS will realize the two years is the only option. Port ****ed up trading away their picks.
Again, while on the surface it works, it is really bad business. I said it yesterday, NAS will never be worth more than he is today.
So the advice should 100% be sign the ten-year deal; if you want to move in two years, move while under contract. Port will still need 2-3 first-rounders, or if his form slips/injury, they may need less.
While Clayton Oliver and NAS are poles apart as people, it is a good example of how wrong it could have gone for Clayton.
Oliver signs mid 2022 - 8 years at 1.5mil, today he is still getting paid 1.5 and 1.7 next year, even with his recent form drop and off field history. ALTERNATIVELY Oliver signs 2 year deal mid 2022 - 2 years at 1.5 mil, issues off field mid/end 2023. No contract at Melb no contract anywhere else at the end of the 2023, career effectively over.
Ben W. on the surface seems like he is doing well, but in fact, if NAS doesn't take the big 10-year contract, he is doing his man a massive disservice.
Those saying Ben W has done well here is also correct short term but might do his eventual undoing because no doubt a player's manager will come into discussions when looking to trade in or recruit young talent. If Ben W manages them, they will move past him.
I don't know anything about player managers but I assume players pick their managers on reputation and proven ability to get the best possible deal at any club at any time their opportunity comes up.
It wasn’t so long ago that we offered long term contracts on big money to the likes of Billings, Gresham, Dunstan & Coffield before they’d even established themselves.
I’m okay with 2 year contracts until the body of work is sustained.
Was his name Anthony???Someone at this event is heavily implying Nas is signing on a deal longer than 2 years.
This person is also a player sponsor of one of our biggest talents.
They'll be hoping Butters can be convinced to go to Essendope so their two top ten picks (maybe 3) can be sent our way.Excellent summation.
Craig Hutchison said on Agenda Setters that NWM’s manager has missed a trick here and isn’t getting the best deal for his client.
Using the logic you have, Hutchison said he expects NWM to sign a contract with St Kilda for longer than 2 years for guaranteed money. Hutchison didn’t seem to like the idea of a short term contract with an extended option the player’s way.
I rate Hutchison. In terms of understanding the business of football he is very astute.
Hutchison also said the only way PA can facilitate a trade now is to convince Butters to be traded at the end of this year. Then use Butters as part of a swap for NWM, or to pass the draft picks on to St Kilda if Butters is traded to another club.
I thought it was very interesting to hear that view.
Doesn't mean that it can't though.
All the reports say that Nas loves the club... I doubt he wants to leave the club and his mates up shi*tcreek with some trash as picks.
So if push comes to shove and neither SA club steps up to the plate, surely he just comes back and plays with us - in the scenario of him asking for a trade
Was his name Anthony???
I deal with Hutchy for work.Excellent summation.

Wasn’t a purple patch.Imagine if we had given Ben Paton a massive contract after his purple patch
I don't particularly like the bloke but he is one of a select few who actually have a ****ing brain or are capable of critical thinking in the AFL media landscape atm.Excellent summation.
