I'm not sure that's going to help. He's an expert at saying clearly concussed players are good to go. He's never yet said that a fit player was injured. We just need to borrow the Port doctor for a day...

He did, but i think his lack of athleticism hurts him in the modern game.He matched it with decent ruckman in his previous games though.
It was a concussion joke.I'm not sure that's going to help. He's an expert at saying clearly concussed players are good to go. He's never yet said that a fit player was injured.
Only talking a year differenceHe did, but i think his lack of athleticism hurts him in the modern game.
If he had ROBs running ability he'd be more than fine.

He wasn’t in form last year, he was dropped not after one poor game. He didn’t make the top 10 of our B&F for what the third year running? A better back up ruck and he would have played less, but we’ve got Strachan.I don't think he should be a leader.
Not sure he is out of form. We haven't even had a preseason game yet. He finished 2024 well and has played 84 of the last 90 crows games.
Huh?
At practice. Don't make me quote Allan Iverson.
He was also dropped in 2022, then played a ripper against Geelong before going downhill again.I reckon the effort did drop off last year but not for long. When youve got no competition for a spot that does tend to happen.
Strachan has had many more team of the year selections than Boyd. Boyd was better last year.I reckon Strachan was close enough.... until last year. Harry went to another level

He can’t jump, he can’t mark, he can’t kick. He can sometimes tap the ball.
Dont think ive ever used that. You may as well stop arguing the point, their only response from here is "ruck is the least important position on the field" and you better believe, when backed into a corner, no matter how hard they've defended said ruckman, they will use it.
It's Schrödinger's ruck problem. Its only a non-issue in yours and one or 2 others heads
The rest of us see the gaping hole - one which was acknowledged by the club - and hope it is fixed soon

How many times has a player had a poor preseason and followed by a poor season or a great preseason followed by a good season?
Yes at practice, multiple practice sessions, during match sims, beaten by a SANFL ruckman after a poor year. With no decent back up. Yep no issue.
I’d also be concerned you were on the wrong track when you’ve got Mostyn agreeing with you, next it will be Wayne![]()

We aren’t a finalist teamNor should he. 5 of the 8 finalists didn't have a ruckman in their top 10. (Hawthorn, Geelong, Port, GWS, Bulldogs)
Brisbane - Big O finished equal 10th in theirs.
Carlton - De Koning came 7th
Sydney - Grundy was 4th.
From all reports ROB dominated Sweet in the ruck. Maybe reports of his bad preseason are greatly exaggerated.
Just like Matty Nicks - you have to be able to acknowledge that they sometimes get it right.
We aren’t a finalist teamFinished 15th didn’t we?
Not as much competition to finish top 10 in a bottom team. Any of those finalists drop their ruckman?
Want to be v what happened when we weren’t. Surely you can appreciate that finishing top 10 in a finalist is harder to do than finishing top 10 in a bottom team and ROB hasn’t done it for 3 years. But we want to be one. Thats why I am happy we have the list strategy towards ruckman as the reigning premiers.
I am also glad we aren't the Bulldogs. Imagine your melts if we were in their position. They have one ruckman - English who is struggling with an abdominal injury and their only other ruckman is 19 year old. They have a list spot open and didn't pick up Crossley or McAndrew!
Port did. And they replaced him with the guy that ROB just smoked.
And if the reigning premiers strategy was to eat a shit sandwich each day you would be chowing downBut we want to be one. Thats why I am happy we have the list strategy towards ruckman as the reigning premiers.

This is the classic club fanboi response '' I trust the club to do the right thing and if it means pivoting 180 degrees then I am ok with that ''
lol Big O >>> ROB.Absolutely!
Huh? I have been plenty critical about Nicks and the club old son.
Our ruck situation is identical to Brisbane's with the only real difference being that it was Strachan who had the stress fracture and not Darcy Fort.
He's got that dog in himTell you what, I liked the look of Oscar Ryan in the practise match yesterday, with a bit of size and experience I think he will be a good player

Maybe. I'm not sold on Ryan and Edwards yet. Haven't really seen anything that screams pick me.Tell you what, I liked the look of Oscar Ryan in the practise match yesterday, with a bit of size and experience I think he will be a good player

We should have engineered a pick to have snaffled Harry Boyd. That is a bad miss imo for us
Carlton vs St Kilda match simulation: Harry Boyd, Hugh Boxshall star in Saints win
First-year Saints Harry Boyd and Hugh Boxshall could be round 1 bolters and No. 10 draft pick Tobie Travaglia staked his claim for an early AFL debut
He'd certainly be better AFL back up than Strachan but we need to recruit a ruck that can lead our ruck division for the long term and we either draft a young ruck in this years draft to develop for the future, either that or re-tool Toby Murray as our lead ruckman in the SANFL even when Strachan is fit because surely he's not getting another contract? We should have engineered a pick to have snaffled Harry Boyd. That is a bad miss imo for us
