Or Stevens wasn’t interested in us given he has been guaranteed to be picked up by the Cats as a rookie. We may have asked about him, we don’t know.We very clearly weren't interested in him at all
we already responded saying we had no interest in stevens. we have no spots.Or Stevens wasn’t interested in us given he has been guaranteed to be picked up by the Cats as a rookie. We may have asked about him, we don’t know.

damn came in to say this and you got in first. You're pretty funny for a miserable old gitYou say nay a lot? As long as it’s not your partner
I reckon my jokes go over their heads that’s why they think I’m miserable. I should dumb them down.damn came in to say this and you got in first. You're pretty funny for a miserable old git
It probably does - but you also need a half dozen players who can step into a role in the league side when there's injuries. You need about 28-30 players ready to go, and some of those just have to be low paid supporting players. On the SANFL point, I have often wondered whether its better to have a stronger SANFL side that is competitive, or whether we do flick the Jones/Sholl etc of the world and strip it right back.
Does being less competitive actually hamper development or not ??
Stevens would have been interested in ANY team that guaranteed him a contract.Or Stevens wasn’t interested in us given he has been guaranteed to be picked up by the Cats as a rookie. We may have asked about him, we don’t know.
We will need to use the minimum 3 ND picks.... but need a spot for picking up Ah Chee in the PSD so need to delist someone who then likely fills our last rookie place.List management experts-
So we will have 1 PD pick,
How many live ND picks are we looking at? And how many RD picks?
We said no before the extra squeeze.we already responded saying we had no interest in stevens. we have no spots.
Is there lots of neighing in the bedroom...No but I have developed the nickname of Horse in the bedroom .
nah becuase geelong said they re-rookie him... so we would need to rookie draft him not sanflWe said no before the extra squeeze.
If he's keen to come home, he can play for our sanfl team & hope for a msd vacancy.
They can keep him then.nah becuase geelong said they re-rookie him... so we would need to rookie draft him not sanfl
So is the plan to take 2 picks? 3rd spot Ah Chee in PreSeason draft.
I figured we would do something like this and possibly upgrade a Rookie to main lost and possibly only take 2 draft picks. We will need to use the minimum 3 ND picks.... but need a spot for picking up Ah Chee in the PSD so need to delist someone who then likely fills our last rookie place.
Assuming the club commits to Ah Chee in the PSD, we're looking at:List management experts-

To get to the RD, he would need to nominate for ND. He would then have to go undrafted through both the ND and PSD.doesn't he have to nominate to get to the rookie draft or can you do that separately ?
The AFL mandates a minimum 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total. So is the plan to take 2 picks? 3rd spot Ah Chee in PreSeason draft.
If so is pick 48 to 75 worth enough points to package and upgrade. By the time the 1st academy and f/s picks are matched picks 73 and 75 will be in the points zone.
Will that bundle get us 2 picks close together.... or do we trade 16, 55, 64 etc and try to get higher?
Our current rookies are Borlase, McAndrew and Turray. There is no reason to upgrade any of them this year.I figured we would do something like this and possibly upgrade a Rookie to main lost and possibly only take 2 draft picks.
its gonna be cook demoted or welsh as a smokieThe AFL mandates a minimum 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total.
At this stage it appears we will be doing the following:
Given our current excess number of draft picks, they will no doubt be looking to do a pick swap trade at some point. However, with most clubs looking to minimise their exposure to the 2025 draft class (which appears to be weak), they may struggle to find buyers for our later round picks.
- Delist 1x contracted senior player (most likely Cook, Sholl or Jones)
- 3x "live" ND selections
- Select Ah Chee in the PSD
- Re-draft the delisted senior player in the RD
Do we have to take 3 draftees in the ND?Assuming the club commits to Ah Chee in the PSD, we're looking at:
3x "live" picks in the ND
1x pick in the PSD (Ah Chee)
1x "non-live" pick in the RD (selecting the player we are demoting from the senior list)
The rule is 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total - not that we'll be upgrading any rookies this year.Do we have to take 3 draftees in the ND?
Could we keep a list spot open for a SSP or even multiple SSP's to train with us over summer with the chance to get a spot?
Do we have until the night of the draft to determine which player is delisted (re-rookied)?The rule is 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total - not that we'll be upgrading any rookies this year.
With Ah Chee and 3x ND selections, that doesn't leave any room for PSSP signings.
Next year should be the year we finally get an open list spot for the rookie draft / SSP etc as we have a bunch of players ooc and some if they fail to fire next year should be easy delistsThe rule is 3x ND selections, though rookie upgrades count towards this total - not that we'll be upgrading any rookies this year.

It has to be determined earlier. I haven't checked what the list lodgement dates are this year, but delist to re-draft players are usually done in the last list lodgement before the draft.Do we have until the night of the draft to determine which player is delisted (re-rookied)?
Or does it need to be submitted earlier?
