You might want to look that up,,,like i did. It's not Perth I agree, but it's still a bit longer than Geelong though.

It's not if you include the travel time to get to the airport, it's just not. Even if it's just carry on luggage and you go with 45 mins before, that more.
A trip to Geelong is much easier physically, it's just the ground is woeful for most sides to play at as Geelong smoke everyone there
Still have to get to the bus station and off the other end.
Somehow I suspect that it would be a charter bus doing a pickup from the club ... *Come on it's less time to get to a bus stop. It's an hour before a flight at least. Anything inside a state is always shorter in the end. Give me a bus over having to catch a flight, the recovery is a factor too, you sleep in your own bed after the game in Geelong

?? It only takes half an hour more to get to GMHBA as it does to get to Tullamarine. Plus, if you play in Geelong you can drive home that night and sleep in your own bed. Teams don't usually catch the bus down there either, the players just drive.
At least you'd finally get to see a game from everybody else's point of view.Charlie Curnow takes his first shot at goal after a soft free kick....
100% and the fact you will play some teams twice before youāve played some teams once is absolutely ridiculousIs it just me or does anyone else miss the former fixture rule when each played everyone within the first 17 rounds and then played the sides you played in the first six rounds at the opposite venue?
Thank you. Sh!ts me. Something that should've been corrected a while ago and I hope will be ahead of 2027.100% and the fact you will play some teams twice before youāve played sometimes once is absolutely ridiculous
No I don't miss it, because I don't think it has ever happened since we moved to a 18 team comp. It's hard to miss something if it didn't happen. Is it just me or does anyone else miss the former fixture rule when each played everyone within the first 17 rounds and then played the sides you played in the first six rounds at the opposite venue?
It used to happen, perhaps it was before GC & GWS were in the comp, but the concept did occur. No I don't miss it, because I don't think it has ever happened since we moved to a 18 team comp. It's hard to miss something if it didn't happen.
Whilst I wouldn't mind seeing it, the greater problem for the fixture is how the 6 double up games are determined, not the dates those double ups are played
Agreed. Is it just me or does anyone else miss the former fixture rule when each played everyone within the first 17 rounds and then played the sides you played in the first six rounds at the opposite venue?
There's usually a fixture pdf file in the below format (with broadcasters etc) floating around but I can't seem to find one for 2026.
Anyone seen it this year?

I agree it used to happen but I can't recall it happening ever in the 18 team era. I stand to be corrected. It used to happen, perhaps it was before GC & GWS were in the comp, but the concept did occur.
I think most people agree re the double-up, you rivalry is one or two of them and then you play the remaining teams in the third of the ladder you finished. Ie Reining Premiers play other sides who finished in the top six the year before.
BAM!
BAM!
Thanks a bunch! How'd you find that?
The problem with that arrangement was that the schedule of the 'marquee' or set-in-stone games meant that certain combinations were never possible. Is it just me or does anyone else miss the former fixture rule when each played everyone within the first 17 rounds and then played the sides you played in the first six rounds at the opposite venue?
Na canāt do that anymore as itās too straightforward and makes too much senseIs it just me or does anyone else miss the former fixture rule when each played everyone within the first 17 rounds and then played the sides you played in the first six rounds at the opposite venue?
North are going to be a watch in the first 6 or so rounds. Have a dream fixture to start the year.
If theyāre not in the 8 after 6 rounds then Iām not sure what hope there is for them.
Maybe Clarkson will feel the pressure if North dont get a good start after first 6 rounds?
You just don't know whats an easy draw until everyone has played each other. 3-3 would be a great start with where we have come from. Would be a great spot to launch into the rest of the year from where we have been in past seasons.Port - could spike under new coach and get back to finals. Last year an outlier on recent seasons
WCE - We should win
Ess - Top 4 last few years early in seasons. Last year injuries killed them. Expect them to be in the mix now with avialability, lost to them last year with all the outs they had
Carl - Save for one game last year tend to bully us with solid bodies. Anyones guess
Bris - Draw last year was a surprise. Is that a level we can play or was it an off game for the lions
Rich - We should win
They should be winning or losing by a small margin 5 out of 6 of those matches.
The 6 matches after this are brutal and I canāt see them winning any of those matches. So if theyāre 1 and 6 or 2 and 6 I could see them being 2 and 12.
