Isn't next year a Tasmanian compromised draft? If we finish top 4, with every other concession under the sun still going, that pick could bloody well slip into the late 20s or 30s (perhaps a touch hyperbolic there) I'd probably be ok with that deal and maybe a third in this years draft. Looks like we're selling the farm but in reality it's a quarter acre and a shed.

Tassie have a heap of early picks, close to ten. If there was 7 or 8 F&S and Academy players our first round pick could be mid-30's.

Context…
What would we realistically have wanted if Nat went What would we have got for Nat Fyfe if he wanted out 3 years ago ?

Both Neale and Cripps are far more reliable around goals…
Cripps would play around 75% game time- what we are missing in the middle and an absolute forward target that brings others around him into the game

A pick in the 20's.

Some nice data in this. Let’s go!

That’s good work there from Rhino. You often hear a throwaway line from the journos east about us being “young” - but nice to see some actual work being put into quantifying it, and having a deeper look at the effect of the team getting older and playing games together

Like any univariate analysis, there’s obviously a lot more to winning football than just average age. But man, it’s gonna be nice when I can say most weeks that I’m looking forward to our big muscly bodies pushing around those weedy little runts in the opposition

I'm prepared to save whatever we need to get Walsh off Tassie in a few years. Absurd talent for a 16 year old

Pretty sure I remember reading an article about him , big Freo fan ….
Not that that means next to **** all these days , tho I was always under the impression it did help with doggas cause

He's a Freo supporter, he knows he's likely going to Tassie - we have to do our best to keep in his ear and let him know we want him as soon as the opportunity arises.

Put these players in order of importance to the side so far this and for the rest of the year.

Amiss
Treacy
Pearce
Clark
Jackson
Young
Serong
Brayshaw
Jackson
Bolton

I think I rate Reid close to top. Every touch is lethal. He is so important to us.

Cripps destroying Port. Makes me think there is still room for that type in modern footy. Makes Lucas Robinson more appealing.

For those that are watching WAFL, is Robinson getting many mins as a pure mid or is he still playing that hybrid forward / mid role?

Kind of hard, seems like the players with the most variable performance gravitate to the top e.g forwards and Bolton. Young due to hit and miss availability and conditioning.

Everyone will be different. I am the opposite, but that is why it is interesting.

I am just impressed by our depth of top end talent.

Sounds like fun:

Assuming Reid should be there instead of the second Jackson (although if you are offering some kind of cloning thing I think we should give it a go). Basically the top 3 are the non-replaceable players, we have no one else who can do what they do. Outside of that it really came down to the experience and capability of the replacement players should the individual go down.

Sometimes. He is mainly played forward and then put into the midfield if Souths need a boost. They were flagging a couple of weeks ago and so the coach put him inside mid and it changed the game. That isn’t the only time he has performed in that way but he doesn’t get many opportunities as inside mid for whatever reason

Was at half forward opposed to Cooper Simpson for a lot of the 2nd half.

Took a really good pack mark on the wing, otherwise little impact.
