Out curiosity, and not undermining TT's allegations, but what was the penalty handed out to Jack Watts for his vile treatment of multiple women via text and social media?
My recollection - and I could well be wrong - is that the Watts incident involved a sex and drugs lifestyle, and not abuse of women.
So does that mean that Morris or whomever came up with the 18 weeks pulled that number out of their arse?
It’s only a guess but it may be 18 weeks was put to Thomas and his rep as a proposed sanction and they have an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made

Jack Watts liked swimming and **** (and coke and whores).
Simple as.

EDIT: Can't believe a synonym for breasts is filtered smh

While we're at it Dusty was cleared by the cops and the AFL for "chopstick-gate" as there was no evidence to back it up and only got a suspended fine from the Tigers for being on the piss when he shouldn't be and being a bit mouthy.

And Tarryn hasn’t be charged by the Police and it sounds like the case is being made on nasty texts.

So I would hardly think there is a 12-18 week suspension differential, unless the AFL have more than these text messages?

I don’t go trawling this thread looking for the most egregious takes, yours just jumped out at me. For what it’s worth, I manifestly disagree that you have ā€œprovided substantiationā€ - I am baffled as to how you can consider the opinion you’ve put forward as anything of substance, but anyway.

i'm baffled how you just think it's all a big coincidence that the complaintant with the latest texts is friends with the last complaintant of whom he's been in an off and on relationship. then when it's ended again, right on que all this happens again.

but i know critical thinking isn't this boards strong suit. i remember making this meme in september 2022 when the clarkson accusations came out, nothing has changed :tearsofjoy:

I guess he does have a recent history of being charged by police and had the charges downgraded to a fine and no criminal record by the magistrate for his efforts to educate himself to not re-offend (and a cool G). It also seems as a result of some Instagram leaks and the Herald Sun there is written evidence of him admitting to not only being an abuser, but also threatening an unknown party to abuse them.

Meanwhile with this particular AFL investigation not a single shred of information has been released. The only things that have been leaked are that an investigation is in fact taking place and an ever-growing inference that whatever happens, Tarryn is up for a long haul suspension. Even with the AFL's insistence this has not been decided upon media outlets don't usually go so heavy with such stuff without some form of credible information. It's easy to assume something is up. Something is walking and quacking like a duck. It might be me.

Roos' Thomas facing lengthy ban

AFL: Tarryn Thomas is reportedly set to receive a lengthy suspension from the AFL after the integrity Unit was investigating Thomas after allegations of inappropriate behaviour were made.
North Melbourne’s coaches have stopped factoring Tarryn Thomas in to season planning as youngster George Wardlaw says the Roos players ā€œdon’t know as much as we would likeā€ about the investigation into the midfielder.

Thomas has been sent to train away from his teammates since mid-January amid an AFL investigation into domestic violence allegations and is facing a ban of up to 18 games.

Given he is out of contract at the end of the season, he may have played his last game for the Roos.

The North Melbourne football department has largely moved on from Thomas as the pre-season has worn on and showed promising signs with a comfortable win over Collingwood in a hitout on Wednesday.

Roos assistant coach Jed Adcock said the coaching staff has taken their mind off Thomas, leaving his status in the hands of chief executive Jennifer Watt and football manager Todd Viney.

ā€œRight now we can only focus on the players that are there,ā€ Adcock said.

ā€œThere are people at the club that are looking after that (Thomas). We can only look after the (remaining) players that are at the club still. If we start taking our energy away from those guys, it is unfair to them.

ā€œTarryn is getting looked after, there are people looking after them, but our job is to look after the guys that are there.ā€

North Melbourne remains largely in the dark about the investigation, with all parties expecting a lengthy suspension.

Youngster Wardlaw said the North Melbourne playing group remains in the dark about the allegations against Thomas.

ā€œIt is a tricky one with Tarryn,ā€ he said.

Thomas’ career in limbo as AFL set to hand down massive ban
ā€œObviously, the players and also North Melbourne (as a whole), don’t know as much as we would like about it. It is pretty hard to comment on and we are just hoping that all parties are happy and OK.ā€

Thomas has played 69 games over five seasons for North Melbourne.

He was stood down last year over behavioural issues but returned to finish sixth in the club’s best-and-fairest count.

It wasn't insightful, witty or amusing then, and it isn't now.

Hilarious that you whinge about people on this board just because you're salty that everyone thought your meme sucked.

As for your own (self-assessed) critical thinking, it's just very poorly disguised victim blaming.

Of course they do, and it's none of our business. This will be left to the league's and the peanuts lawyer's. They will convince him to appeal any sanction and fleece him of his money. He can't afford better lawyer's than the AFL.

There is a Whatsapp group containing vile messages he sent to various women (last year). I image the AFL and the club have seen this. Once they come out I'm not sure many will still defend him.
I don't know what the latest charges relate to but would be fairly confident it relates to this group and the people in it. I reckon in TT's head they are the people that have 'done him wrong'.

For your own sake, give it a rest mate. Fight a fight worth fighting.

Makes it pretty clear there what is currently still being decided.

If North are legally allowed to sack him for breach of contract now or we have to put up with him until the end of the year and keep paying him.
I think its more likely the AFL want to make sure he or we cant sue their asses off given its not deemed worthy to send to a court of law.

We have become such a weak as piss society. Does anyone remember the saying sticks and bones?

Do you know how many heroes send text messages without any action? If I had a dollar for every text that I received that threatened my life.

* ME DEAD

All other issues aside, I hate to be the one to tell you but receiving death threats via text is not a normal thing. If you're getting lots of them, then you should probably do something about that.
