If he doesn't play very well will you change your name to RedmanWasHereButDidn'tDoVeryWellBecauseHeWasThrownInTheDeepEndAgainstSydneyAndWillProbablyBeDroppedNextWeekCosThat'sWhatWeDo?

Nope.

I would like to change mine to something different though.

Odd running style but at least he can outrun a dual cab.

Haven't had a true wingman debut for a few seasons now. This kid looked super in the VFL last week. Didn't get much of it (14 possessions iirc) but made every one of them count.

Looks to work, and work, and work. Actually think, once he builds his already strong tank, he could transition into AFL much better than others. Looks super slick in traffic, and equally adapt on the outside. Didn't see too much of his overhead marking but works to the right spots.

Excited to see how he goes

Really, really liked the look of him against Collingwood in the VFL. Which is the one and only time I've seen him play so far. Very good speed, excellent overhead and just as good at ground level, read the game beautifully and kicked the ball well. Couldn't fault him at all.

I'm slightly disappointed/nervous they've brought him in for the Sydney game. It's going to be a bloody tough match in which to debut, and get much of the ball.

But, that said ... go get 'em, son!

I really rate the Redman selection as he looks a natural forward/footballer.

You look at the best sides and they play 5 or 6 genuine forwards every week. We don't have 6 natural forwards on our list.

Add Eades, Long and TippaWalla and we have quite a nice core group of young ones.

With the H's (Hurley, Hooker, Hocking and Hibberd) as the veterans of the future.

Did some neat things after being a spectator in the first half. 10 Disposals, 6 tackles, 3 score involvements and an goal assist. Would give him the game against North Melbourne, than let him continue to develop in the VFL for the rest of the year.

Definitely, adapted to the speed much better as the game went on. With Langford coming back next week I really hope we drop Polkinghorne instead of Mason.

As Eth said very raw but i like him. Not really a great debut but you have to like a first game player who makes 6 tackles despite being on the light side.
Shows that despite things not going his way he wants to be in the game.

Still way too raw. Though needs continuity.

I don't think all of the criticism being leveled at the "play the kids" comments is justified.

If Polkinghorne is going to do 2/10 of jack shit I'd just as soon have Redman, Long and Eades do it because they are the future and the exposure will help their development.
