VFL 2nd Elimination Final - Collingwood vs Werribee at North Port Oval (Pies into 2nd SF, replay in OP)

If our game is on Sunday does that mean we will have to rest one of our emergencies in case of a late out in the seniors?

If so would prefer we play the Saturday game.

We'd be carrying someone over regardless.

If we get a Sunday double header though, it's possible we might play one emergency for a half and then send him to the G to act as stand-by (we did it with Fasolo earlier in the year when we had the first Richmond double-header).

Why can't it be played at Vic Park?

One of the problems is that Vic Park can't be secured, to make people pay to enter. Temporary gates and fencing would be expensive to install and monitor. Most (all?) of the other VFL venues retain their fencing and games are still ticketed.

Seems our best matchup is actually Footscray.

Explanation;

Beveridge has said that he will rest a few senior players next week, because the seniors make their second long interstate trip in 3 weeks (Perth 2 weeks back, Brisbane in round 23). So if they rest even 3-4 senior players it severely weakens their VFL side. Plus we aren't playing them at Footscray so we could actually beat them.

So go Werribee today, although North might rest players too next week, so it might not really matter who we play.

Reckon there's less chance of this happening than a final at Vic Park, so it's more thinking out loud than reality.

If we get the Sunday double header play it as a curtain raiser at the mcg, channel 7 can use their afl cameras and 'pies fans also don't have to move venues. Sure opposition fans probably won't attend and we didn't get a great crowd against the once proud club previously known as Preston, but it would save an early trek to Port Melbourne.

Boyd puts the Doggies 5 points in front, 28 gone...

Right now we're playing Werribee...

Dogs by 4 points, almost 30 gone...

Dogs win by 4, Collingwood will play Werribee.

Date and time still to be confirmed...

That be a Very Hard Game

All finals are, TD.

I'd rather be playing Werribee than this Dogs outfit though, who are capable of exploding like their AFL team on their day.

Most likely Sunday 11.42 you would think.

Although 7 might want to show it live leading into the seniors, so might start after 12.

So you think Who ever we played we would play Sunday so CH7 could have another Afternoon of Collingwood Football? mattys123

Not sure, just fairer for Werribee to have a 7 day break.
