Re: Selection 61 - James Craig

I'm fairly sure it was 2004.
I got the number from the AFL Record Season Guide 2009, which lists all the rule changes by year. Then again, it wouldn't be the first error I've found in the book.

We got Neil Craig, now James Craig...could someone manage to get us Daniel Craig next year....:)

the guy's a beast...remember watching him play in an exchange with my high school, looked massive compared to some of the year11 kids (as shown below)

His school got absolutely smashed, but he showed AFL potential

Next governor of california...

Will he have what it takes to be ruckman at 195cm? We already have Sellar and Mckernan as undersized rucks. Can he play key position very well? I read he is a ruck/forward. Can he play better than lets say.... sellar as a tall forward?

He certainly has athleticism that sellar doesn't have. Sellaray be being groomed as a chb. I heard somewhere he may still shoot up a little bit so if he gets to 198 he should be ok IMO

The club see him as a ruckman before anything else. His leap is elite, and he is a strong body for work around the ground.

Without looking it up does anyone know how tall Mitch Clark is?? I know it's a bit ambitious to think he may turn out to be anywhere as good as him but Craig did look pretty athelitic in his videos. Would be awesome if we could groom him in to that sort of roll.

198 or 199 I think... Would be fantastic if he turns out like Clark. Would add a new dimension to our game

Ah ok thought he was a bit smaller than that. Yeah it seems as though the tall lumbering types are slowly dying out of the game with the modern style of game. The tall ruckman will always have the advantage in the centre circle but around the ground the mobile types will become more effective and play almost as another midfielder.

Pretty sure he's about 201 now, but he'd be even more athletic(maybe not leap but certainly more mobile) than Craig...

He has had a season or two under his belt, conditioning is bound to start show. Hopefully craig will benefit similarly

Lions website says 198. Speaking of which, it's not a bad site, detailed profiles and career highlights

Wow thats pretty tall! has he shot up in the past few years??? I was sure he was draffted as a mid 190 something tall forward. I cant believe how athletic he is as a 201cm player then.
