Sad to watch a player clearly doing it tough and everything appearing to be too hard for him

the barrel was the icing

The current balance of the forward line isn't doing Cam, or any other forward, any favors.

Agree with the most of the sentiment here.

The bing positive is - he’s really trying to have an impact and commitments his body to everything, but execution/skills are way off.

Look like he’s putting the effort in...At some point the form will click I think.

FFS Cameron, put this on repeat and watch it 500 times.

BELIEVE!

Doing the basic 100% with a bit of flair. Now it's 100% flair and the basics have gone to s**t.

His positioning at forward stoppages and when kpf go up was good, now he's going up for the big grab instead.

A lot to like about his footy, but we simply havnt seen it for a very long time.

Surprised at how fast he looks and how much ground ball he snaffles.
I wonder whether he has been told he is the second tall and has to fly for everything.
Perhaps indicative of our lack of another tall forward.

Another victim of the current game plan.

It's a forward killer.

One habit that Zurhaar has this year, that I can’t help but notice, is that when he takes a mark in F50 he doesn’t always look to see who’s free as he goes back from the mark. Against Adelaide he took a mark hard against the boundary but just turned his back and went back for his kick. If he’d had a quick look he would of seen a player in lots of space (Lazzaro?) who would of had a shot from a much easier angle. Zurhaar missed. He did something similar against Freo.

He’s well and truly overdue on a good game. Back in 2019, he used to bust the game open one in every four. He hasn’t had a good game since back then. He needs a bit of luck. Against Freo, a couple of unlucky breaks derailed his game early. That dropped mark was crazy. Imagine the following storyline on Saturday:

(1) Z marks that ball and slots the goal.
(2) Z doesn’t play on and slots his second.
(3) Great charge down effort.

All the above could have occurred in the first 15 minutes. Different game, then - maybe - certainly for Cam.

Slower entries, and tactics based upon getting quicker players behind the press.

Playing basically the 2nd KPF role hasn't helped hi either.

There is always some bit of the story we never know, but a couple of seasons back this bloke was attacking the ball, opponents were collateral damage and he was building as a future leader.

It's probably coincidence, but he got some press, and somebody here made the point that he'd taken his first steps down media street - and expressed fear of the consequences.

It came how soon: Next match?

And seriously, he has not played a good game since.

He might bump and try to take out opponents - but he isn't playing bloody football most of the time. Just bluster and embarassing misses.

He's the result of what happens when a coach devises a game plan that does not play to certain players strengths.

He's jamming square pegs in to round holes until some more round pegs can be found.

I totally agree.

The best theoretical game plan will not win if the coach doesn't have the cattle to pull it off. It may be possible to use a few blokes as utilities or to squeeze something out of a player by slotting him into a position that isn't his strongest suit. But FFS, a couple of seasons back the put this bloke in the ruck, and now he's supposed to be #2 forward. What are they thinking??????

I cannot see how his development is going to progress by doing this crap to him.
