and thats the rub, other than perceived value as a distributor he has no other tools that add value to the backline. so effectively your going in a man short.Yep. He has to stop calling for the ball in positions which are of no benefit to the side but great for his personal stat line. If there is a directive to get the ball in his hands, then that needs to stop. The opposition are allowing him space to receive the ball. You don't want to fall into (the pretty obvious) trap of doing what the opposition wants you to do.
The club and its easily led supporters need to stop reading disposal tallies and instead use their eyes to see what is sadly, self-sabotage.
