He was very good today.
Snap. Came to post this pretty much word for word.

I do like his mental strength too, just fronts up every play, every week. Hed be acutely aware of the criticism but is always trying to be involved.

Didn't have to defend 1 out, got most of his ball through hb and midfield as the 2nd/3rd possession link up player.

Hardly put a foot wrong today.

Still, must be pushed out by 2027. The dogs couldn't carry this bloke and we wont be in a position to do so either.

Can’t defend, can’t play wing, can’t play on ball, can’t play forward. Can’t win the ball unless he’s accountable for no one. **** him offf.
Kind of ignoring how important his kicking was, especially inside.

The problem is the liability he becomes when he has to man up inside D50.

Weird post after he played a very good game.

Can hardly recall him doing many kick in's, and shock, horror, he is much better deployed, and adds more value further up the field, besides calls for him to be dropped, that move has been begged for here for yonks, Hardeman back will help the backline structure to keep this move happening.

Our designated high half back distributor, who doesn’t pick up anyone 90% of the time, and in a game where we dominated territory and possession had 11 kicks not including kick-ins.

5 hit a target (not 1 over 25m)
1 to a 50/50
1 turn over
1 not 15m
3 inside F50 to a leading player. Not one hit the target/mark completed.

His handballs were on point though, and he had his best defensive game for us this year. 1 tackle and he amazingly halved 1 marking contests. 🙄

Yes this game was fun so I rewatched it and noted the garden gnome ‘s stats. People see what they want to see.

4 out of 8 kick ins. 1 point was kicked and the siren went. Caleb had ball in hand for that one too.

People see what they want to see.

Why are you going to make me defend Caleb Daniel?

He had 13 kicks and 12 handballs at 80% disposal efficiency. He had 3 interception possessions. Three I50s. 0 frees against. 4 score involvements.

He was good yesterday. He's been bad earlier in the year and deserving of criticism. But yesterday he was good.

vanilla stats that mean nothing. He is our designated distributor off half back who can’t defend and he had 5 kicks where we retained possession. All 5 under 25-30m

I need someone at Fox Footy to do one of those measuring graphics on CD throughout the year, both receiving and distributing, as I feel more than anyone else on the team, and maybe even the league, gets pinged for not 15m. Maybe after the first 5 rounds when the umps forgot about that rule (or the players adjusted).

Either he's asking for it too close or kicking it too close A LOT, or there is just some bias against him.

I'm not suggesting they are 40m bombs, they are little chips, but at least from the broadcast angle they don't look THAT much shorter than others that are let go.

PS - if his kick/receives that get penalised are actually the 15m limit, then the umps need to pay running too far A LOT more than the never they currently do.

There are so many areas of subjective umpiring that would be exposed if we had the time and computing horsepower to analyse games.

They can umpire Daniel with a 'not 15' bias and Naicos with an 'always 15' bias and we'll never know.

3 inside 50’s, did not connect once. Whack!

This isn't true. Here's him hitting Powell square in the hands with a perfect I50 kick. Powell just dropped it;

Here's another one of his I50s which didn't "technically" hit a target but was put right in front of the leading forward and I think could be considered a decent I50 considering the pressure he was under;

5 hit a target (not 1 over 25m)

This isn't true either, unless you think these kicks to LDU aren't 25m?;

He's had some lousy games this year, no denying that. But Caleb Daniel, simply put, played a good game yesterday. Coming in here today and potting him suggests it's more about an agenda/vendetta than it is actually judging him on his performances.

Chadwicho cmon man, in50 one was too high and the other dropped short, what happened to attempt 3? I’ll give you the couple of 25m+ lasers though. I really should stop exaggerating.

Edit: I had another look, yeah those 2 kicks were 35m easy.
