Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

I just have a question about Charlie Edwards- I was a big fan of his as a junior and see him as the type of player that could fill arole that some clubs really lack, highly skilled running half back. I noticed he had 25 in the SANFL today, how do crows players see his progression and because of lack of opportunities at the Crows would they be open to trading him?

I am not able to post threads for some reason, so I have chosen this 2024 crows trades thread as I have not been able to find the 2025 thread. Sorry if it is against any regulations or it is to upset anyone that is moderating.

Seems to be progressing well, but we're apparently cleaning up some defensive deficiencies.

My guess with what will happen with Edwards is he'll end up getting a debut at the end of the season and probably lock away a half back position here next year.

Maybe in replacement of Laird over time?
It’s a hard side to crack into at the moment.

Perhaps more of a Smith replacement (more run and metres gained). Edwards has been knocking on the door for a while now and there's a bit of consternation about him not yet getting a game, but as you say, it's not an easy side to break into right now. He'll get a chance. Doubt the club has any interest in trading him, I think they rate him quite highly - especially as someone who could eventually move into the midfield.

Still not sold on this team their forward line is hit n miss. sometimes they get a hold of teams other times it just doesn't work...
Our best list makes us genuine contenders; we just have a talentless, visionless and reactionary coach who loves playing the Old Boys Club over young talent. He's the only trade we desperately next to execute in the off season

Is there a crows fan anywhere that likes Nicks?

Yeah, I would say I generally like what Nick's does and that I find most complaints about him seemingly more about frustration around a deep rebuild being, well, a deep rebuild. Or just made up complaints for the sake of complaining (hello "in-game coaching" which is usually pure nonsense).

Still, he's built an intriguing profile in both 2023 and 2025 (I'm willing to write off 2024 at this point), with Adelaide being a team that can hit on the counter/outside well and this year becoming a miserly team defensively (which is the quickest pathway to a flag). On top of that, it seems like this group has matured as we're not losing too often against the middle of the pack (something that has cost us in previous years) and our kids are starting to take up the lion share of the work.

We had to sack him this year, if he didn't make finals, but as we're on track for that, I'm be content to give him another 2 years (once finals are confirmed). With the caveat of sacking him after 1 year if Adelaide regresses without significant injuries. He seems close to building a premiership capable list/structure, but that's the hardest step in football.

That's the perennial thing with forward lines. They are dependent of good delivery from the midfield. The thing about the Crows is they can still win and kick big scores without their tall firing. You have players like Keays who can kick a handful, Dawson, Rankine, ANB, Rochelle and even Curtin who can go forward and kick goals.

They are still the most dangerous forward line in the comp.

Adelaide need to sort out their long term Ruck situation, and continue to add talent to all parts of the ground.
The rebuild is over, and now its just list maintenance that's required.

Outside of the current 22, we still have some exciting kids in the seconds like Charlie Edwards who are yet to get a look at it.
