Last time they played: Collingwood 15.16 (106) def Adelaide 11.8 (74) at the MCG (Round 15.
Collingwood have a extra day to prepare, but they are coming off a trip to Perth.
Collingwood has won its past two interstate finals and they defeated and they defeated Port Adelaide in round 20 at AAMI Stadium.
If you were to base your selection on form, you’d probably select Adelaide - Collingwood were far from impressive against Fremantle in Perth last weekend, kicking only 8 goalsa nd with Burns and Thomas fighting to be fit, they will go into this match very much under manned and you’ve got think what a difference Didak and Shaw could make.
Mind you, Adelaide’s recent form in finals is hardly inspiring.

Last Time: Coll. 106 def Adel. 74 - 12/07/2008 Head to Head: Adel. 10 - Coll. 18
Head to Head this ground: Adel. 5 - Coll. 5

ADELAIDE
Adelaide won five of their final six games to secure a finals berth and this weekend they get the added bonus of a home final. Last weekend they defeated the Western Bulldogs by 9 points in a low scoring game at AAMI Stadium and they were far from convincing.
A major concern for Adelaide is that they’ve averaged only 13 goals per match this season and their recent finals record under Neil Craig fails to inspire, with just two wins from seven finals since 2003.

COLLINGWOOD
After putting themselves in the poll position to grab fourth position, Collingwood fell at the final hurdle last weekend, losing to the Fremantle Dockers at Subiaco.
With Scotty Burns doubtful with a calf calf injury and Dale Thomas also battling to recover from a calf complaint, the Magpies will possibly come into this cut-throat final without their captain and a number of key players (don’t forget Didak and Shaw).
Leon Davis may well be the key to the Magpies - in the past four matches he has averaged 25 possessions per game.

Usally against this mob i am never confident but this week i think we are good things.

Thank you Birdmanptr.

How tempted will Malthouse be to play Didak and Shaw? They both assassinated us last time. If I was a Woods supporter I'd be banging on the club's front door pleading for them to play. I hope Wood's hierarchy stands firm and sticks to its original no-more-games-this-season declaration.

Collingwood would have even more egg on their face if they were to play either. They said they wouldnt play for the rest of the season.

I have no clue how saturday is going to pan out. Collingwood are so unpredictable. And I guess you could say we are also. If Gill, Tippett and a small forward (any of them) are on their game I think we should win.

But before the game I will be sitting in my seat not know what to expect.

Just waiting for them to not be able to resist the temptation, name Didak and Shaw and for Eddie to say "we meant the rest of the minor round season.."

That won't happen.

Malthouse was on TV last night stressing that wouldn't happen, getting quite angry with the suggestion that they might change the rules and play them.

If we win you may as well hand Geelong the Premiership Cup.

No team other than Collingwood, and a fully fit one at that, can beat them.

Last years Prelim against the two was one of the best games in a long time. I was hoping for a finals rematch this year.

Having said that I am reasonably confident of beating a depleted Collingwood. Bring the game we played on Saturday and we will maul them. But the Crows can be hit and miss. The result will depend which version of The Crows shows up.

I expect there to be 45k plus there to see off Bass.

I like how he throw in the quip about NASA and space cadets.

I have the up most respect for MM especially in finals & take it from me the margin if we win will be small no matter who takes the field for Collingwood.

Agree with that. After last week the will come firing no doubt about it. It's a shame we have to play them after the way they played on the weekend because after games like that they always fire up. A lot of people saying Adelaide are hit and miss and it depends which version of us turn up. I'm cmpletely the other way and think it depends what Collingwood turn up. They are very hot and cold, when they are hot they are very good and if they are not they get flogged by Freo.

I just came on for a bit of a troll...but apparently one of your blokes beat me to it...lol
Seriously though good luck to your blokes Saturday, I hope no-one ends up on a stretcher and hope both our sides put up a better show than WB tonight.
Should be a beauty.

Go Pies.

I think it will be a much better display than the crap the Bulldogs served up last night, both teams everything to play for seasons on the line, Im expecting a hard tackling game of footy today, with plenty of goals and non stop excitment, hopefully the atmosphere is fantastic from both sets of supporters today :thumbsu:
