Marty, could you please give me the English interpretation!

Most agree McGregor is better as a backman, but I'm not sure what your getting at with most of your post.

Playing JT on Gehrig would be suicide.

Because Bassett is a better player. Not saying it will happen, but it's what I'd do. Versatility helps too
He might be a better defender but he is a rabbit ina spotlight when he is playing up forward. scott Stevens is by far better forward than Bassett.

I would rather bring in Perrie than Jericho and keep Stevens as he has been good in games so far.

I don't consider getting the football and kicking it straight to the opposition as being good in games so far.

Ok first of all you are dealing with one very ****ed off Crows supporter here, who wants success like all of yourselves so yeah I guess I am getting carried away at the moment. Basically what I am saying is this, Gehrig is going to be a major problem for us on Saturday night, IMO Biglands would have been the best matchup on him as he has the strength in one on one contests, he also has the pace to keep up with Gehrig on the lead, who do we play on Gehrig most people are saying McGregor I dont agree he couldnt even take a contested mark in the forwardline last week how is he supposed to handle someone like Gehrig:confused:

I definitely wouldn't drop Scott Stevens - He was actually one player who could take a mark on the weekend! I also don't think Bassett deserves to be dropped either, he is a decent backman...I don't think we have any better options as I think Torney needs another game in the SANFL.

Jericho looked great on the w/end. He was having a bit of a kick at training on Sat morning. He looks much older than 19 and has a good physique. It was great to see him in action later in the day kicking 6 goals. Don't know if he should be brought in just yet though...

I will be so mad if Kenny plays up forward again this week. Ayres: give up with this move it obviously isn't working - Kenny couldn't take a mark to save his life last w/end and it was so frustrating to watch.

I think Perrie should be brought back into the team but I'm not holding my breath. I thought it was a disgrace that he was dropped after the first game. I know there are mixed views on this board about Ian but there is no point in dropping him so early in the season - his confidence will be shot. At least he has the ability to take a mark in the forward fifty. bring him back!

What about Welsh?? if any player should be dropped i'd drop him based on last weeks disgraceful performance. He took TOOO long with the ball. but he can be a valuable player

Plus Gary don't player Mattner whatever you do (you never know what Ayresey might do!!). I couldn't cope watching him play on Milne again. And also don't play Stenglein on Milne either, he's too slow.

IN: Perrie, Bode
OUT: Goodwin, Biglands

I think the crows will win.

I went to Crows training today, and the boys were very clean with their skills by hand or foot. Having said that, they weren't under pressure or anything.

They practised their kicking out of defence and to the forward line, where Welsh, Perrie and Carey would take turns in leading out of the goalsquare. Once they had lead and marked the ball, they would then have a shot at goal and if they missed, they would go back and have another shot.

They did this for about 20 minutes or so. Hopefully this week, the boys will be able to kick straighter ... because they didn't miss too many today! :)

I areed with everything you said except this bit. So one one bad game from McGregor playing out of position all of a sudden makes him a defender thats not capable??????

So I guess 2 years of good footy in the backlines and some fantastic contested marking backing into packs counts for nothing??????

Interesting you say that because I listened to Stenglein on 5AA tonight and he said that Perrie trained very well tonight and really put his hand up for selection.

Hopefully the match committee pick him and play him at CHF, moving Kenny to CHB. Here is to hoping anyway.

I thought Sarge trained very well today. He worked really hard to get to the ball when he was on the lead, and he didn't miss too many goals! :)

Well Hamill & Baker suspended with Blake injured offsets the loss of Goody & the stupidity of Biglands. BTW, reckon a premeditated whack of the ball should be worth more games than a clumsy fend off, but that's another matter...

My team for this week, would be:

B: Gallagher, Smart, Hentschel
HB: Begley, McGregor, Massie
C: Burton, Ricciuto, Reilly
HF: Stevens, Perrie, Johncock
F: Bode, Carey, Welsh
R: Clarke, Stenglein, Edwards
I: Hudson, Bassett, Schuback, McLeod

IN: Perrie, Bode
OUT: Biglands, Goodwin

Think JT needs another week in the SANFL & Jericho should further prove himself at this stage.

Would start Macca on the bench to rev him up. Would consider the same for Welshy too & perhaps start Schuey. Reputations count for nothing!

Hehehe, I get this all the time. I was almost strung up on the Brisbane board as being a stupid Collingwood supporter because I posted on the Collingwood board that Brisbane is boring to watch because they flood all the time and games end up being low scoring ping-pong matches.

Good luck this weekend guys, we have St Kilda the following week so feel free to soften them up for us. :P

Kane, I don't think Macca will start on the bench. I don't think starting him on the bench would achieve anything.

Just give him an instruction to get 3 tackles a quarter and not worry about anything else. This will lift his work rate and have a positive impact on McLeod and the team.

Well we need to do something to fire up Macca. We aren't going to lose the game by starting him on the bench for 5 mins. Alternatively have him tag 1 of the Saints midfielders - either Hayes or Harvey, as both have a great work ethic.

We definetly have to do something but starting him on the bench IMHO does absolutely nothing because he will still play. Either drop him or play him.

Just give him an instruction to go out there and tackle, tackle, tackle and tackle some more. You'd be surprised how that can turn player's form around. Its a feel good drill :D

I would like to see him get plenty of the ball & then not hold back by taking players on. None of this fumbly nervous stuff, but the magic of old with the carrying & use of the ball.

I'm with you Stiffy in that starting on the bench won't help do anything but put splinters in Macca's bum.

I like the idea of getting him to run with someone like Robert Harvey as he is ALWAYS where the ball is. Worth a try!!

I wonder if playing him as a FP for the entire game work. Give him instructions to be at Carey's feet at all times and when the opposition has the ball, chase and tackle.

THis might get him back to form and he might kick a couple of sausage rolls along the way.

Would play him on a hbf for most if not all of the game ( regardless if he likes it or not) so he can read the play a lot better than he has been & hopefully that will lift his confidence enough to return to the mid-field in the coming weeks.

Ok I will be honest I was disapointed with McGregor last w/e and thought he didnt provide a contest, I agree he was played out of position and I also agree he is a capable defender, but is he our best option for Gehrig????

Okay with the suspension of Hamill I am going with my heart and tipping the Crows first win of the season by 10 points, it will be a tough encounter and we will have to play our very best to win, we need to be confident, we need to kick straight dont waste opportunities infront of goal, dont over use the ball, use the middle of the ground, and Ayres dont play players out of position if Perrie gets a gig this w/e play himat CHF and Carey at FF, get it right you bogan!!!!!!!

Yes he proabably is but we have to look at it a bit differently.

IF Biglands was available I would play him on Gherig but he is not so we must stop the supply to Gherig. McGregor would a good match up for Gherig BUT we need to stop Reiwoldt and Kenny is the man. If we can stop Reiwoldt we will stop some of the supply to Gherig. So i would play McGregor on Reiwoldt and play someone else on Gherig and when th eball comes Fraser's way double ream him or play a ruckman in front off Gherig to block up the space.

So do you think it would be best to have either Clarke or Hudson drop into the backlines when they arent on rucking duties, at least with Hamill out that is one less headache for our defence, I think Milne is the other danger, I dont think St Kilda can afford to play Reiwolt up forward for the whole game.
