Absolute rubbish. Bet your not within 500ks of the Stadium or you would type that rubbish..

Take the option away from the GU to go upstairs and if the third umpire spots a touch when moving the ball back then take it back to the goalsquare.

Can’t do that.

Can’t call touched off the boot 40m out, then a defender on the line has no real incentive to do his all to re-touch it “just in case”, then review the initial touched call.

Has to be like cricket - if the umpire calls “no ball” and the batsman hears it, he is entitled to go the slog with no consequences. You can’t then review it, work out it wasn’t a no ball, and pay a catch.

Once you call it touched, and a passage of time passes, you can’t take it back. Otherwise you have players playing for 2 alternate outcomes.

I think we should all get together and crowd fund a massive truck load of chicken s**t and dump it at AFL HQ to let them know how we feel about the current standard of umpiring.
