There should be a 25m penalty applied if it is within 15m behind the 50m arc.

Freo killed his confidence as a forward and then they tried to turn him into a defender.

Only an all time great like Pavlich has managed to become a good key forward there.

I think it's been a net benefit to the game, but it's still very weird that umpires are yelling "STAND" and "Play On" 200 times a game. And then the 50-metre penalty is an overly harsh punishment for infringing on it.
