I heard an interview with Tuohy were we noted the conditions were actually very difficult, with a lot of swirling unpredictable wind that it really tough for them.
Watching the game and most of the misses looked like misses as soon as they came off the boot. Particularly the Swans shots on goal from less than 20 metres out.

There was a couple of shots on goal from the cats in the second where the ball seemed to be coming backwards in its last few meters. Definitely blustery but not an excuse for 6.18

Geelong are the interesting one. Still heavily reliant on older players.

You think we should just get rid of all older players like Hawthorn and allow them to work it out while getting smashed for years?

Or, slowly transition the list and hope to have replaced a few oldies each season which is exactly what Geelong has done.

Pathetic these commentators are still going on about a non 50m penalty.
It's always the last decision that could have resulted in a score that is analysed. Forget all the previous frees and unseen frees or the multiple touches before danger marked.

Even if the kicking wasn't the best, it was still a great game to watch. Not sure why people complain when the result could go either way up until the final few seconds.

While frustrating at times, it was an entertaining game being such an arm wrestle.
Really refreshing to hear from a neutral. The finishing was diabolical (especially from Sydney), but holy moly, they were having a crack.

Reminded me of Richmond v Freo last year, right down to the result. Good to know that at least some people without a vested interest appreciated the contest.

Goalkicking aside, was one of Sydney's best games this year. Warner, Buddy, McCartin back next week. With a full strength side playhing itself into form, the next few weeks should be entertaining.

In some ways I am more angry at this game than the game earlier in the year when Geelong pumped us. We were the better team last night but we shat ourselves at every single available opportunity.

Sydney better do extended goal kicking practice (both on the run AND set shots) from all angles this week... or probably every day for the rest of the year!

At least one side had skill in those games. And you could see ideas being developed by our kids.

Last night was hot garbage.
What ideas from Hawthorn players were being developed after qtr time last week?

For sale.

One former forward on a million bucks. In his last effort as a "forward" kicked two behinds and three other attempts that went out on the full. Will play back pocket as a marquee player for North. Former owner will subsidise and pass on promotion photos

The duty of care is from the tackler to not drive the other players head into the ground whilst pinning an arm. If he executed the tackle without the final action, it’s a clear cut HTB.

Next thing you’ll tell me that getting punched in the head isn’t reportable, because the target should have ducked and then there would be no contact.

He got off ya 🦆

So if you believe the MRO is right this time, then are all their other decisions right as well?
or just like me, only the ones you agree with?

Watch the replay!

Close tries to place him gently on the turf. It was never a forceful action. The umpire took forever to blow the whistle which greatly contributed to the entire situation.
Common sense prevailed.

Proud of the boys this weekend. Unfortunately couldn’t get the win our kicking was a little poor at goal however with players slowly coming back you can see the difference of how damaging of a team swans can be when healthy #s#swom
