No it doesn't.

They played decent footy for the first 7 weeks, that's why they're 5th.

But the footy they've played since is bottom 4 stuff. Within a fortnight, the ladder will reflect that.

They're awful.

I’ve seen plenty of bad takes on here, but this is among the best.

Rowan Marshall dominated Gawn and Grundy all night, despite little to no ruck relief.

Gawn has dropped off maybe 5% which is understandable with age. Grundy is terrible.

Marshall was excellent.

You think St Kilda are bad, but maybe consider taking a look in the mirror. This place has over 100,000 users and you could very easily be the very worst.

I thought Grundy was terrible but Max was not much better tbh. His contested marking has gone from his game. Take that away from Maxy and he becomes a seriously average ruckmen. Rowan Marshall destroyed him around the ground tonight.

Yes he can’t move anymore and the contested marking is gone - Melbourne has invested a lot into the ruck position.

We lost to Brisbane and a rampaging Richmond. We beat Sydney up there and West Coast in WA. I don't know what team your watching but maybe go back and watch both the Brisbane and Richmond games. We were right in them until the last 10 minutes but hey you clearly know more about the Saints than a fan.

Sydney when they lost Parker and that freaky looking half back flanker of theirs.

West coast are the worst team in the history of the sport - and they missed Tim Kelly and At Kilda only still just fell over the line!

There's no sugar coating it - they're just an abomination of a football team.

As I've said before - the ladder will reflect their bottom 4 capability by season's end.

Saints get the moral win tonight imo
Why?

They lost because they have no skill, polish or composure outside of Sinclair.

This lack of skill, polish and composure is why they murder the ball time and time and time again going Inside 50.

Seb Ross is one of their worst offenders at this. So his loss basically meant they may have butchered the ball slightly less.

And losing King, just meant that May didn't take another 900 intercepts due to their pathetic midfield repetitively and predictably dropping the ball on his head in 3 on 1 contests over and over again.

Although granted, the diminished bench would have tired them out, but it in no way hurt them operationally.

You clearly haven’t played the game at any level. Down to 2 on a bench at any level is hard enough, even more so at AFL level I’d imagine where players have crucial set rotations, players come off absolutely gassed and some of these gassed players aren’t getting a chance to get to the bench. Massive effort from the Saints tonight.

Grundy is never going to get a free kick in the goal square, may aswell just let the saints mark it and hope they turn it over big fella.

If he was capable of taking a contested mark it wouldn't matter

Some of what you're saying I agree with, but you're overstating it.

You are not wrong.

The effort was great but the execution of skills is generally abysmal and it costs us time and time again.

What you don't talk about is the players coming through. Has me excited for what will come.

This year though we are a 12-15 team. Maybe we finish slightly higher due to the soft draw.

I can’t believe I’m agreeing with you about something.

Saints ended up using 52 of 75 interchanges for the game. Only a max of 2 players could come off at a time, and their breaks would’ve been shortened to allow for the next 2 that are gassed to rotate.

Anyone that think being down to 2 on the bench by HT wouldn’t impact the team has NFI. Galant effort by the Saints.

Pretty sure we were down to 2 on the bench by 1/4 time. No stats at all for Cordy in the 2nd quarter and King and Seb were out in the first few minutes of the game.

Jesus we are bad..

Forward line is absolutely dysfunctional. Teams seem to just run it out so easily against us. Our talls and smalls are both deplorable.

We lose that game is St Kilda didn’t have the injuries they did during the game.

Every player apart from Rivers and Viney as of late, has gone backwards or stalled. May terrific tonight. However if King didn’t go down he wouldn’t have had such a free game to do what we did.

Kozzie has been utter useless since signing his extension. No chance we are doing any damage in finals this year.

I can keep going on, but there’s no way we are fixing this mess this year.

Picket surprises me. He looked awesome pre season and early on. Seriously disappointing lately.

Gawn looks a shadow of his normal self. Maybe holding back due to the medial and his age. Might unleash in the finals.

Trac looks good :)
