Worst thing for Wicked Witch is that if it is the AFL holding it back, it's W.W who are currently, and will, cop all the negative press and feedback about it. AFL probably trying to push for a finals release to pump up the finals a bit more. If so, we should surely be hearing something sooner rather later.

The very fact Wicked Witch are employed is because The AFL are holding back and want the cheapest "budget sheet" developer. FIFA and The NFL figured out almost 30 years ago, you don't try and profit off the video games, it's to advertise the sport. The AFL already blows millions on trying to expand the game into new territories, it should be able to afford investing in the billion dollar video gaming industry.

Shouldn’t be too hard to create a great career mode. Doesn’t take amazing gameplay or graphics. Just dive deeper into draft, trading, list management, player development, fixturing etc. if I am playing a second season, I don’t wanna play a team on a Wednesday afternoon.

With blokes like Gill in charge, it really doesn't surprise me. Too busy worrying about the Gold Coast and "fixing" the rules and look of the game. Probably has the mindset that all gamers are still fat basement dwellers who live with mum and dad, and only care about WOW and LOL.

The silence on the game is frustrating, but I guess the second Wicked Witch open their mouths, the floodgates will burst and they will cop a hammering. No press sells more copies of the games than releasing early info, p**sing people off with false promises and/or negative reviews.

But do they control the gameplay mechanics? Is the AFL telling them they need terrible physics, a bad marking system and one on one only AI?
I was talking about marketing.

But they would control it to some degree because they are putting funds towards the game.

Free DLC for anyone who gets it though with 2020 lists next year too. At least we aren't being flogged extra money for the new lists when they come out. AFL have probably demanded a 2019 release regardless of time haha

Parent's buy more games for their kids at Christmas than any other time, especially more times where they are hoping they guess the right one .

I feel the need to point out that number 4 for Hawthorn is Jarman Impey.

Can anyone tell me with a straight face that that looks anything like Impey?

Lol far out, I've cut this a lot of slack but a release that late better mean we get a much improved game. Previously I would have been happy with only a bit improved.

Why the **** wouldn't you just wait a few months and launch along side the actual seaaon? Give it a few extra months of polish

I just hope they release it on the switch. Great to have it in handheld.

Moving it to unreal engine 4 actually improves the chances a bit, that engine has had great optimisation and sucess on switch according to devs trying to port.

That's actually quite an improvement on AFL Evolution 1 graphics wise.

The problem is they always show off decent looking renders and screens at close range but in actual gameplay often looks terrible in comparison. Paticularly the grass. So I remain reserved.

I did just compare it to the pre-release shots of AFL Evolution and I could still see an improvement on those. But You're probably right in that department. We'll have to wait and see.
