Bizarrely, AFL Wii had the option to select the size of the crowd from a Sellout, A Medium Crowd, A low crowd and No Crowd. I've never seen a feature like that in a sports game before or since. Wouldn't mind seeing that be an option in more games but I see why a lot of games don't have it, It's a feature barely any people would use.
I imagine in many sports it wouldn't be necessary. I don't think many other Pro leagues can have a 100k stadium with only 20k attendance, or even a 40k one with plenty of spare seats. NRL maybe?

In order to realistic represent AFL though, having a sell out Melbourne vs Fremantle in the middle of winter is unlikely.

Honestly a big fan of the guernsey creator, I know you could mod the last game on PC but I think this is a nice step up on customisation. I feel if the customisation is right up there with half decent gameplay we could be in for a good game.

Will definitely get and play the flip out of, through gritted teeth. We all know it's going to be a very rough game, so I'm going to accept this gift in the spirit it was intended.

if they can do online player updates (a la Fifa), i'd be happy with investing in a career mode.
i imagine that level of maintenance doesn't come cheap from a dev perspective though.

Looks like the first game of 2020 may be on my Xbox....!!! :)

If anyone wants to know the process of screenshots for public releases of games, it's pretty simple.

1) These are always taken on PC at max settings, because why not? You're not showing something false, you're showing the game off at it's best. Taking them on PS4, Xbox, Switch, whatever would simply be a waste of time and an annoying extra step. You only ever do this if you MUST show something specific to those consoles. Even then, I'd lean to fudging it on PC for ease of use and time.

2) Most of the time you're going to be taking good angle shots, cinematic angles and just stuff that looks cool. Again, you want to show the game off at it's best, gameplay angles generally aren't showing you anything special and don't give you a good "focus point".

3) You can definitely fudge what you capture from time to time. But generally this is within the bounds of the game. You may get some special animations set up or get a short cut that allows you to not have to go through an hour or two of gameplay just to get a specific animation. Because you are undoubtedly under time constraints. This is only done to mitigate the time between taking the shots when the game is looking good (usually late in the dev process) and when you can get approvals (this can take days, if not weeks).

4) There can occasionally be some photoshop work done. Now, this can get somewhat dodgy. Dependent on when you get shots, this can be altered because you don't really have a "good looking" game yet, it may be way too early to have anything that's super polished so you end up cleaning some things up. However, I'd say what you usually get from this work is just making it look a bit nicer than it perhaps does in game. It won't generally be altering the game up massively. Tweaking lighting values, adding DOF, erasing something that looks dodgy in the background is usually as far as you may go.

NBA stadiums are often like 60% full. They might say they are a sellout because of season ticket holders and giveaways but in reality the stadiums are quite empty.

Yep, perfect for Switch so I guess I'm out as well.

Add me to the list of wanting this on Switch.
I just hope they release it on the switch. Great to have it in handheld.
I forgot to subscribe to the thread so I haven't been getting any notifications.
Will this eventually be getting a Switch port? Would be cool to play it on the run.

Your wishes have been granted.

Edit: No idea how a random SM post got in there but it can stay.

its because they moved to unreal engine 4

its well known for being well suited, easy to port and supported to create by the switch for its own games

oh damn i legit just brought my switch last week, do i get it on the ps4 or switch, it wont be downgraded on the switch will it?

For these type of games usually would be lesser in handheld mode as a result of 720p. It’s hardly Witcher 3 and should be good in dock without much difference. But you never know I guess.

AFL Live 1 for the PC has that option, too:

Imagine tonight's game is going to be as empty as this simulated match at The MCG, lol.
