Here’s my settings for anyone interested. Having pretty epic games with them, with quite a variance (win some by 8 goals, had a draw, few close finishes, and a few big losses)

Pressure Awareness 69 (if you are saying “god the ai is dumb at disposals under pressure/kicking OOTF/turnovers”, increase this. Increase too far and you end up playing super soldiers. This is one of the first things to increase as you get better/start winning too easily)

Tackler Avoidance 59 (remember this is how much they will ATTEMPT to run away - ie how ballsy they are.)

Stay on Man 0

Auto Bounce: Button Only (love this setting- means I can try and sprint the full 15m, and occasionally I do push it too far)

My preferred Camera:
(takes getting use to, but I much prefer it swap direction for who has the ball. Only thing you need to master is the kicking directional is tied to camera direction. So as it pans, you have to be aware the left stick position needs to change to hit the same target. But no other camera lets me see as many options, and anticipate and make marking contests in both directions.)

*I’ve also gone and individually tweaked all known talls/good marks with 10-20% points increase, and also reduced smaller players marking ability by the same amount.

*Ruckmen and other big players have had their speed reduced by 20-30% (less for the freaks like franklin) Same for their sprint ability. this results in them struggling to make fast intercepts, but with increased marking ability, once they are at a contest, odds are in their favour against smaller oppo.

*as I only play as the Dees, I have lowered general kicking ability of all my teams plodgers, and increased spoiling abilities of key defenders/Jake Lever etc. Also reduced kicking distance for known weaker kicks (Spargo can’t kick it further than 30m in game and in real life), and a bit of a distance boost for those who can kick a 60m bomb.

I'm quite enjoying the season with Richmond 4-0. Don't want to play with the sliders just yet

- I should add, if you’re enjoying it as is, don’t touch anything! This was more for those who are either finding it too easy, AI too dumb, or want it to be more “realistic”

finally caved and bought it. thought I can always return it to eb if its rubbish. I've only played 4 games but so far I'm pretty happy with it, it's way better than I was expecting. I started on rookie difficulty and every game have gone up in difficulty one step, but have won every game by 100 pts still. my only worry is that its gonna be way too easy, hopefully I'm wrong..
 
I should add I made my sliders similar to what ptrg said his are
I tried his as well. The game is more open and I don't mind the sliders. It definitely makes the game easier though (I had to jump up to Legend from 2 levels below that straight away). I ended up tweaking tackle distance, wind effect and a few other things to make it harder for the user. But I think it's an improvement on the base for sure ptrg

im struggling without the sliders, winning a bit but percent of 107 on senior

im getting sick of plodders like selwood running around like they are Russ Westbrook - going to try the sliders
 
Lost one won one with the sliders. It's got a nice feel to it. Nice work ptrg

Even kicked goal from a (Jayden) short kick out, without it being touched.


Can't stick a tackle and it feels harder / more crazy at ctr bounces.

Another point - because the game isn't that 'good' as opposed to soccer / basketball you can just get into it and try and have fun.

As opposed to worry about general manager or football director stuff. That said I'm a bit worried about contracts drafts, but only about half way regular season.

Smashed Sydney, so I'm currently a big fan of the sliders.

Still a bit annoyed ive got two Sydney Stacks. The secondary one isn't happy beIN in the twos with Mr Rance ( and Cumberland, knee IRL)

Glad others are enjoying the slider settings I use.

I should add, these are only setup for legendary difficulty. Never tried them on any other lower difficulty’s.

I still constantly tweak, and when I lose a few games in a row, I might bump up my marking boost by just 1 or 2% or run speed by the same amount.

And when I’m winning a touch too easily, I nudge up AIs set shot and on the run accuracy.

AI pressure awareness is the one that slowly keeps going up as I improve, which makes the AI more accurate, smart and lethal.

If you have gotten use to the controls, maybe try jumping straight to Legendary, then use sliders to make it competitive (if they are now too good).
Lower the AI‘s Pressure Awareness, Tackle distance, Marking boost, and raise your spoiling slider, on the run accuracy and maybe nudge up your running speed.

I had played Evo1 previously (nowhere near recently), but jumped straight into this one in Legendary, and used the sliders to make it a contest.

I havent played an AFL game since AFL live on ps3, but have found them all very easy unfortunately. I'll take your advice and bump up the difficulty with the same sliders and see how it goes! hopefully I get belted

Anyone here have the xbox one version.

Want to organise an online match one day with say 4v4 or something like that. Pick a time and day and set it up.

Be funny if we did.

ptrg in coach career how many injuries do all the teams normally have I’m struggling to get that one right. Most the time in real AFL every team has roughly 5 players unavailable due to injury. On your setting what do you have?
