Think you could do Redman, Gresham and pay enough salary to open up cap room for Port to chase a FA. Say NWM or Draper or whoever.

Essendon get a top player. Open up 2 list spots and it only costs 1 first or 1 2nd depending on the FA port get. That feels like a win.

Would require Caldwell to shift to HB in redmans role and then be 2nd rotation mid but he’d be really good there.

And how many picks on top of that?

I think right now, we're probably in the same boat as St Kilda. As in if someone wants a trade to a Vic club, why would they pick Essendon or St Kilda over any of Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood or Dogs? Money is that answer. Having the big MCG games is probably a sweetener that might see us as slightly more attractive than St Kilda.

But either way, I think we're going to be forced to build a base through the draft, before the quality of players like Butters and Reid are going to consider us. Which I think is a good thing.

I don’t think we should be wasting money on Bergman, he’s a good player but hasn’t done a hell of a lot. Let someone like st Kilda pay him 1mil+ a year

If we were able to get Dempsey for Parish (and obviously something else tacked on from our end) I'd be doing cartwheels down the street. Arguably the best offensive wing in the game this year.

I’ve watched nothing, so I probably shouldn’t even offer an opinion.

But the only players that interest me around the top 10 are CDT, Lindsay and Grilj.

I dont think there is the star power some drafts have had, to be fair, the championships will showcase a few names.

I do think this draft has some depth, maybe midfield heavy and lacks talls but its not doom and gloom

Like those bigger guys that can find the ball but also hit the scoreboard - the very best players in the comp (Rankine, Bont, Richards, Trac, Dusty, JDG, Danger, Fyfe, JHF, Heeney, Warner ect)

Marsh 189cm avg 12 disp and 2.1 goals a game

NHHargraves 186cm, 15 disp, 1.4 goals avg in bottom age year. Been injured all year, 1st game back kicked 4 goals

I’m not stress about height (although CDT is 199cm…). I want foot skills, leadership, versatility and competitiveness.

I don’t want more 1 dimensional mids that can’t kick.

I made a comment that there is a HEAP of 186-191cm guys likely taken in the second and third rounds that have some traits to make it at AFL level. Some real value imho

Dempsey and Dursma on the wings drifting forward would be awesome

Agree. It would be more like us trading out our first round pick for him so they have picks if Reid chose them. Maybe a third round back our way along with Dempsey for Essendon one. All based on Reid maybe picking them.
