Hindsight hero 😆

A lot thought KA might fall to the rookie

Clubs could see the confidence but were concerned about cultural fit
Sorry Doss, but I’m demanding a recount of the 2025 POTY. 2025 ain’t over. It’s like awarding the mark of the year, but only including the home and away rounds.

KA should take their rightful place as Essendon BF overlord.

Ant NITK, but lets allow him to feel good about himself, dont want him staying up til 230 like me every night, just it will be the actual time zone
No chance of me staying up to 2.30am :)
I get up at 4am.
Do not worry yourself. I do not feel bad that Rosa did not come here and read my "opinion" on Setterfield. :thumbsu:
It was never really ITK stuff anyway. It was an opinion based on my view we should be moving away from blokes who are always injured. I made two posts about it and I never claim to be right all the time. In fact I am wrong often.

Never thought id ever about Essendon and football

But likewise with Rosa for me, all im saying is we need to hold our belreath as to whether hes better than Dodoro

So far ive really liked his later picks. Angus clarke was my 2024 fav, Kondo was my 2025 fav, he held strong to get both. So i hope im right and i hope hes right. Although finding defenders past pick 25-30 is hardly nostradumus stuff (Redman, Ridley, L.Hayes, Roberts) all been in this range under Dodoro

So he hasnt really done anything yet to suggest wow this guy is well above what i could see happening

I always said if were trading all 3 x 20 picks we may aswell be gettung blues pick - ended up happening just like that

For me right now alot sits on whether Farrow and Sharp become absolute jets in the front half, that would be huge tick for Rosa, because imo he couldve grabbed a solid F1 and Lindsay instead, i wasnt an keen at the time on Farrow and he seemed to go at his highest range

But he hasnt made any errors yet (Francis, Hobbs, Mcgrath, 2 talls 2020)

I have posted it quite a bit actually. Is what it is. Have never claimed to be always right. That is the thing with football. No one is ever always right. Experts.List managers.General public. Hell I once posted that Jack Riewoldt was a one trick pony who would never amount to much at AFL level.
As far as ITK goes. Like many people I have some contacts inside the AFL. Many here have just as many contacts and even better contacts. I share what I can. It is all a part of the discussion. It is not always good info and there are many more who are way more ITK than me.

I’m actually impressed you could decipher WTF that drivel actually meant.

Had me stumped

Sharp looks as bankable a player as Andy McGrath was in his draft year. Whether thats a b - grade role player or a star inside mid is null in void stuff.

Robey becoming an elite half fwd / mid in the Jordan De Goey mould or just a half forward in the Kai Lougman type is the big question about talent id (and obviously development improvements at the club).

Farrow the great unknown at this point in time, does he end up like Brodie Smith or does he end up like Bailey Dale?

I wouldn’t have gone with setterfield this year, but let’s be real he’s borderline best 22 player for us. I don’t want to hear people blaming Scott for picking him over younger mids though. If he’s on the list and in the best 22 that week he should play.

I do really like Sharp, but im not sure you can guarantee hes a B grader in my book, but that comes down to definitons. Is Jack Viney a B grader, is Worpel/Nash a B grader, is Wines a B grader? Hopper?

Even Dodoro was taking Robey 1st pick, id say 90% + recruiters were, so hes not taken someone that someone else wasnt

Farrow is picked as a future mid with the ability to stay back if he isnt upto it and be solid there.
Can he deliver a Dyson Heppell career? Is that a huge past mark, id assume most say, that is

I think he will get plenty of games if his body is as good as what theyre suggesting at the moment to train to some degree

But, atleast we have the option now. If Robey/Farrow is banging down the door for mid time and the season is cooked and theyre fresh enough, but we dont want to move Setters, Parish, Caldwell, Durham or Zerrett positions, than we can play him in 2nds

In the unlikely event all (6) are fit (Setters, Zerrett, Durham, Caldwell, Parish and D.Sharp) than we can build setters via VFL back from foot injury

I think a really deep mix instead of tight mix on the cards if all fit

CBA
Setters 60%
Parish 60%
Durham 50%
D.Sharp 50%
Caldwell 40%
Zerrett 40%

Until season is shot or injury, than Robey misses out, but hes probably not ready for much time this year and hes capable fwd

Definition is all down to interpretation,

18 players out of contract in 2026 according to Kyptastic and the "" page,

Main List;

Angus Clarke (3 years)
Archie Perkins (1 year)
Elijah Tsatas (50:50)
Jade Gresham (delisting)
Jaxon Prior (50:50)
Kayle Gerryn (50:50)
Lewis Hayes (1 year)
Matt Guelfi (50:50)
Nik Cox (delisting)
Rhys Unwin (1 years)
Zak Johnson (1 year)

Rookies;

Archer May (50:50)
Archer Day~Wicks (50:50)
Lachlan Blackiston (50:50)
Liam McMahon (delisting)
Saad El~Hawli (50:50)
Tom Edwards (delisting)

Cat B rookies;

Jayden Nguyen (1 year)

summary,
6 players who imho deserve new deals
8 players who could go either way (deal or delist)
4 players who are leaning more towards delisting than new contracts

who you all got?

CBA
Setters 60%
Parish 60%
Durham 50%
D.Sharp 50%
Caldwell 40%
Zerrett 40%
I think it will be
Caldwell 60%
Merrett 60%
Parish 60%
Durham 40%
Setterfield/Tsatas 40% (Tsatas probably gets early gig if Setters no good)
Sharp 40% (last year Hobbs and Perkins less than 20% so will see)
Also Expect Fiorinni and Roberts to get a look in 2026 , likely to cover injuries.
Hopefully we don't see Gresham & Redman in there.

What are the chances (% wise) Setterfield is on the list in 2027? I'm in the 0% camp I think.
There should again be easily 5-7 players to cut

Likely gone
Gresham, Tsatas, Guelfi, Cox (if gets another knock), Setterfield (depends if fit, getting games and who doesn't make it from watch list, I likely have Sharp playing his role, but who knows)
+ Merrett off to the Hawks

On the watch list
Day-Wicks, Prior, Unwin, El-Hawli, Edwards, McMahon

New contracts
Clarke, May, Gerryn, Ngyuen, Johnson, Blakiston, Hayes (provided knee ok)
Perkins likely safe, but needs a rocket
