What was the full plan re Alberton Oval precinct? Just off the top of head - lights, enlarging the Alan Scott HQ, kicking out the bowling club, Port Adelaide FC museum, plus the Centre of Excellence. Any other goodies included in the $35m?

Well, I’ve gotta say, that was impressive and inspiring. Paula V planted the seed all the way back in 2011. With the nine million we should be able to start stage one within about 18 months . Very proud of this initiative. Several schools including Henley High want to be involved too.

We don’t get generic state wide bribes, so suck it up and turn around Alberton marginal at State and Federal level or its wish and hope stuff. Especially as we’ve missed the ‘Its for the women!’ sell everyone else is using to get cash. By the time we have a Women’s side, that won’t be a selling point to Pollies for easy cash. Ports.

Why would the Liberals promise anything in a safe Labor seat they have no chance of winning?
The Port Adelaide electoral division was abolished last year and was absorbed by the seat of Adelaide and Hindmarsh. Alberton falls within the Hindmarsh electoral division now.
Port Adelaide electoral division has been a Labor strong hold since it was created in the 1940's. Labor has held Hindmarsh all but three times since the 1900's.

I already do - the credits just about cover the cost of the raffle books I take each year.

A “shovel ready” Port Adelaide is hopeful of starting a big redevelopment of its Alberton Oval precinct in June, providing the club gets an “even-handed” treatment from the Federal Government, chairman David Koch says.

As part of its ‘Chasing Greatness’ strategic plan – headlined by winning three premierships in the next five years – the Power have also revealed plans to completely revamp its base.

Now costing between $18 million and $20 million, the proposal includes upgrading the change rooms in the Williams Family Stand for AFLW at Alberton Oval; expanding the high-performance facilities in the Allan Scott Headquarters for the men’s, women’s and SANFL team; creating two basketball courts for the West Adelaide Bearcats to use for their junior teams; and a FIFA standard soccer pitch that will be used as an additional training space for Power players, but also by the North West Junior Soccer Association after hours.

I believe the club leases or subleases to the bowling club and has some say on development there.
