I'm actually surprised about how much support HMac and Jolly have gotten, but I would select Sandilands and Cox over the other 2 any day.

there really is a blanket over the four of them.

the good thing from an eagles perspective is that this is cox's worst season since 2004 and he's still in, or not far from, all australian form.

matty kruezer, although not quite there yet, is probably less than 12 months from working his way into the top echelon of ruckmen too - considering he is still only in his second year of development that is a fantastic achievement.

Kruezer has improved this year. A few young ruckman should develop over the next few years. Natanui will be good. Mitch Clark has had a few brilliant games for Brisbane. Ryder might have found his position as a backup roaming ruckman for Hille. Ryder can also swing forward or back but at least Bombers know they don't have to pick Laycock.

How is there quite a bit of daylight? I think it's nearly impossible to split them.

I agree with you.

But you have to remember Sandilands destroyed Carlton. So the blues fan will have an inflated view of Sandilands. BTW i thought Sandilands dominance of Jolly went a long way to Fremantle defeating Sydney at home.

Sandilands has had one poor game and one average game this year. Poor game against Saints and average against North Melbourne. The rest have been good /excellent.

You can see from the stats that its very very close.

A lot of people still say things like 'Sandilands is just tall', 'doesn't contribute enough around the ground' etc. The guy is top 10 for clearances in the AFL. He's had plenty of possessions and taken some big grabs inside 50 (his conversion could be better). He is definately contributing around the ground.

You could raffle it.

Probably Sandilands as no. 1 ruck and Cox on the bench for mine so far.

If Cox gets it without significant improvement then we know AA is selected on reputation and selector bias – or confirmation of the undue influence if Gerard “3 votes Dustin Fletcher” Healy. Michael Gardiner has been at least as good as Cox this year. I watched with interest as the old master countered the former apprentice by playing to nullify his dominant side. Cameron wood played his career best game against Cox. He ahs had a number of average performances. He’s probably been worn into the ground but this is AA we are talking about not best clubman or who would you prefer in your side next year.

I don't see how Brogan hasn't even been mentioned here. Before the Port v Sydney game, all the talk was about how the two leaders in HO to advantage were playing off against eachother, and Brogan absolutely pantsed Jolly in the hitouts, despite probably being shaded by Jolly around the ground.

I can't find a hitouts to advantage stat, but i'd think Brogan would still be going very, very well, and that's considering he still shares a lot of the rucking with Lade.

Whiped the floor?

Sandilands did absolutely NOTHING against North last week.

He had 40 hitouts (everyone knows he is better at hitouts than McIntosh), yet you were still well beaten in the clearances.

Ok just for you, when i said "wipe the floor" it was directed at Jolly....The "Beat" was for McIntosh want me to tell you who i was talking about when i said "he matched the other"???

He beat McIntosh all over the park. He may not have been in the best 10 players out there but he sure did beat his direct player (dont reply with McIntosh won that battle either because he didnt), forget the teams stats who had more clearances out of the two in question??? Infact who had only one and who had the most of any player out there...

Now they are picking a RUCKMAN that would be tapping to the best midfield you could pick from 2009. FFS the guy doesnt need to rack up worthless stats, you pick him because he is the best RUCKMAN in the comp which he is, BAR NONE in 2009...

Cox is nowhere near what he has been, i dont even have him as the back up ruckman...WCE supporters please dont disagree with me because you all know im right...

Im not saying by any means that Sandilands will get picked and the others wont at the end of R22 im just saying he should if it was picked today...
