He's an objectively bad person who's legacy will be one of damage rather than good for the country. The people of Warringah can pretend to have some sort of a Damascene conversion, but they kept returning this f*** head for years. Indigenous affairs is one of the few areas where I suspect Abbott's heart is at least coming from the right place, even though he does seem to be rather too much of a fan of top down solutions rather than organic, bottom up ones.

Yup, it's top down to the core. I get the sense the situation is something that does genuinely bother him, but there is a punitive smell about some of his solutions and I don't think that's what is going to work here.
