So 1996 Like where the Brisbane Bears finished the round in top spot on the AFL Ladder coming from 9 points down at 3qtr time to win by a point! That was against Freo, in the second last home and away game of the season, played at the GABBA.

Today the Lions did the exact same thing against us.

In 2011, the Gold Coast Suns got the wooden spoon in their first season, while in the NRL the Gold Coast Titans slipped from Preliminary Finalists in 2010 to last in 2011.

In 2019 the Gold Coast Suns are just a quarter away from collecting this season's AFL wooden spoon, while the Gold Coast Titans will collect the 2019 NRL wooden spoon.

Despite generally poor performances by both teams over the years, neither the Titans nor Suns have taken out the wooden spoon in any other season.

I think the Pies win it actually. Nonetheless so many shades of 2007.

Despite looking like this would change at one stage this year, Port and Dogs have still never played finals in the same season.
That's amazing given that the Dogs and Power have both appeared in quite a few finals series from 1997 onwards.

I know North Melbourne and St. Kilda had to wait 72 years after the Kangaroos 1925 admittance to appear in the same finals series together in 1997, but you only have to look at the number of wooden spoons and other low ladder placing's for both teams to see why.

It’s like they’ve gone out of their way to avoid each other.
