The Ghost Of Glenferrie
Cancelled
Sorry to intrude on your board but I'm back visiting my family in Australia on holidays and last night at dinner my mother-in-law told me that the little boy who had his eyes taken by cancer is struggling again with this disease.
I played under 19's for Richmond with Doug Searl in the 80's, before I went to back to America with my family and on to College - so I've got more than a soft spot for the Tigers.
Anyhow, I thought the next time Richmond won they could have Tyler in the rooms and alter the song just a little bit in order to boost the young boy's/family's spirits.
Kid's cancer is close to my heart as my youngest boy had juvenile Leukaemia 8 years ago in America, but has fortunately made a full recovery with the chances of becoming ill again virtually zero. This nightmare lasted for nearly 2 years and as you can imagine it was a living hell for us as a family.
Anyway this is a brain fart I've had and I thought someone on this board might make a suggestion to someone with authority at Richmond FC.
Even if it only cheer's up this little boy's life for an afternoon it's happy memory to add to a life that's had more than it's fair share of tough times.
If anyone else has thought of it I apologise, but I don't get the chance to stay current about all things AFL from my side of the puddle. Good luck in 2013 Tigers.
Oh we’re from Tylerland,
A Fighting Fury we’re from Tylerland,
In any battle you will see him with a grin,
He’s never giving in,
When he’s behind then never mind,
He’ll Fight and Fight and Win,
Our We’re From Tylerland,
He’s never beaten till the final siren’s gone,
Like the Tiger’s of old he’s strong and he’s bold,
Oh he’s a Tiger,
He’s yellow and black,
Oh were from Tylerland.
