Some idiot put the salad on my sub before putting it in the toaster once, which meant my salad was all soggy and disgusting. It's usually alright though, and there's always at least one hot girl working there.

The processed nature of the chicken has always made me question my subway purchases. If the chicken teriyaki is scooped out of the big tub as opposed to the little cardboard boxes it tends to be ok (plenty of sauce) but the boxes are usually stingy on sauce and when they nuke them it tends to be dry and highlights the "fakeness" of the chicken...

"What sauce would you like?"
"Just a tiny bit of ranch dressing thanks"
*Blegh* aaaand swimming in ranch dressing.

I've tried asking for "a thin line", "a small squirt", "a wee bit", "a smidge" and numerous other description everytime it's the same. They just grab the bottle and squeeze hard.

The way Subway workers handle the food is disgusting, bordering on a health inspector to shut them down.

They use gloves only to keep their hands clean, not for hygienic purposes

You want bread, they handle the door of the cabinet. You want meat that has run out, no problems they go out back to the fridge holding the door and all the containers with their gloves on.

The same gloves they prepare the food.

Are you vegetarian it doesn't matter they handle the meat along the food chain of preparing a subway.

Want sauce or salt pepper again handling the bottles or shakers with the gloves on.

I actually make a conscious effort to select food when I eat there if I am stuck, I order whatever they have available rather them going out the back to grab more food.

Subway Club is priced to imply that you're getting beef + ham + turkey when in reality they just put alternating slices along the bread.

Excessive/uneven sauce distribution - they grip the bottle so hard that 90% of the sauce is in one spot the size of a 10c piece.

Marketing and then the instore experience is a disgrace - uneducated people think its healthy and they know that and prey on them. At least other fast food joints don't makes these bullshit "healthy, fresh!" claims.
McDonalds healthy choice menu. When they have the subs listed as which are under 10g fat, then if people instead order others, adding bacon and rich sauces at what point is it the customers fault?

Top of the list of shit at subway is the cookies. Not for the taste, but the ingredients - including such wonders as:
Emulsifiers, (322, 476), Flavour), Solvent (Ethanol), Colour (150, Wheat), Preservative (211), Food Acid (330)) , Emulsifiers: E471, Vitamin A, Raising Agent: E500. And my wife and I used to wonder why Subway cookies could send our kids nuts afterwards. They don't get this shit anymore.

Though its a nice List of shit in subs in general. Healthy? Ha! Sure under 10g fat, but at what cost? F-me, people would be better off cooking themselves up a nice low carb, high fat meal of bacon and cheese without any extra ingredients.

The salt and pepper are mixed up in the same shaker.

Bogans. Bogans everywhere, even on the adds. Most likely praying on the barely pubescent workers. Surprisingly the most popular fast food with the modern day bogan.

Subway "Sandwich Arists" often suffer from the same lack of sandwich etiquette as many other sandwich places and kebab shops.

If there are 10 fillings available for example and you happen to only want 3, the expectation should be that sufficient quantity of those 3 fillings will be provided to ensure that the 3 filling sandwich, wrap, roll or kebab is comparably sized to the 10 filling equivalent.

Far too often the 3 filling sandwich looks like an anaemic poor cousin, leaving a void of under-utilised sandwich space and an unsatisfied customer.

Just yesterday I ordered a chicken caesar wrap from a small lunch bar. When I asked for no egg, not only did the vendor oblige in not ruining my lunch by the addition of an ingredient which was requested to be specifically excluded (another sandwich making faux pas) but she told me she would add extra bacon and lettuce to make up for it. Birds sang, sun shone, children laughed. For a brief moment all was well with the world.

NB: We're talking about sliced tomatoes, grated carrot, chopped lettuce etc. here. It's not as though people are ordering sandwiches and saying 'hold off on the onion, just fill it up with caviar thanks'.

Subway is on another level in terms of misleading and preying on people - their ENTIRE media campaign revolves around an image of "healthy" and "fresh". Then you get into the store, and everything changes.

They don't do these anymore.

From memory you got a free footlong when your stamp book was full.

I used to love going in with a full book and ordering the biggest, most expensive footlong.

8 stamps = 6 inch, 16 stamps = foot long.
1 six inch = 1 stamp, 1 foot long = 2 stamps

Why do I remember this???

You spent too much time, and money, at Subways.;)

Getting a newbie make your sub.
When they shake the crazy-salt shaker and it hardly hits the surface

Kill 2 birds with one stone. Get yourself to Mandurah and use the Subway drive thru, then hit the town and you're a big chance to get a mallee with one of the many skanky, drug addled, sex craving, non slective single mothers.
