Either Buckley is engaging in some brinkmanship with Goldsack training forward. Or we're about to make a very dumb positional change. I hope it's the former. What was your take on it Apples?

Goldy was good on the track; better than Treloar to be honest. Both Moore and Reid look ready. They too looked better than Treloar. Adam was somehow a bit subdued, as if he was being super cautious.
Would I take Reid or Moore on a 3 hour plane trip? Probably not. Next week, they both have to be considered. We need a tall defender and if it isn't Reid or Moore, this week then maybe it is Goldy.

Don't like the sound of it at all, leave the forward set up that has worked all year alone IMO.

If he could limit the influence of Gov and Greenwood the same on Shuey that would give us a huge difference on when we met last time, particularly with Gaff and Nic Nat out.

Stopping McLovin's intercepts would go a long way towards winning the game, although The Sack isn't 100% he's as cunning as a shit house rat and could do the job.

McGovern set up their win last time. Did as he pleased. Now we have Cox, he won't be so ready to peel off. If Goldy plays surely it's as a defender, that is our great weakness.

Storm has just hit Melbourne. Let's hope it's a very tough slog with a few short term, say.....3 week injuries to Richmond and Hawthorn, but mainly to Richmond.

Well, after training we went for lunch to the Botanic Gardens. As we wandered along, we both agreed it was odd that Treloar looked so lack-lustre and that Goldsack played full forward. We wondered whether:
•Goldsack was being used as a ploy. There would be at least one WC spy watching today.
•Treloar really would play considering how subdued he looked and played.

If I was Treliar there’s no way I’d be going 100% today with the plane trip coming up. He tested it fully on Tuesday. He’ll be fine.

Looked a mile off AFL pace as a defender last week, although he will be improved by the run giving him a defensive forward role would benefit us as long as he plays well.

I don’t see how changing what has been a very successful forward structure, to bring in a defensive forward, could benefit us more than bringing in a second tall defender to cover Kennedy/Darling. McGovern had a field day last time we played because we didn’t have the danger of Cox in our forward structure, not because we didn’t have a tagger for him.

Ya no what, I never thought of it that way and to be honest I don't mind the idea......the Gov tore us a new one last time and if our mids get on top this time round it will minimise the influence of there tall fwds so there won't be such a reliance on us needing to match them with height. It's gunna be interesting how we structure up!!

If Goldy does play, my guess would be he plays on Kennedy. If he is struggling to contain Kennedy, I'd suggest plan B for him will be to go stand next to McGovern
