Backline dodgy against a side with 2-3 top key forwards (i.e. St. Kilda) BUT have explosive pace, excellent midfield, and a potent forwardline which would be even better if Tredrea was fit.
Definitely a top 8 side, but couldn't see them going all the way.
So Motlop actually kicked that goal after the siren last year did he?Doesn't stop us from beating St Kilda every time we play them

That's not the point.
He always goes off half-cocked, and is made to look a fool time after time.
I wasn't referring to Motlop in that post.I'd rather have Motlop in the side than a talentless hack like Perrie..........![]()
I wasn't referring to Motlop in that post.
I was referring to PAFC66.
As for your comment- So would I.![]()

whoaaah there nelly. pull the reins in a bit. Nothing is impossible, but Port winning the flag in '07 is pretty close to it. We are seriously lacking in the forward line at this moment in time. We need a decent consistent crumber and a fast leading accurate full forward (besides Tredrea). There are players on our list who may be able to fill this role in the future but not right now ... consistently. Our back line is also suspect. Wakelin is getting slower. Chaplin isn't strong enough yet and Chad is not a tight checker. Thurstans and Pettigrew - still massive doubts. Our midfield is our strength but is still to prove itself on a consistent basis. Players like Shaun Burgoyne, Danyle Pearce and Steven Salopek have yet to prove they can shake a close tag - the Richmond game last year a perfect example. They have been around (in the midfield) for all of 12 months, they have a long way to go before they could be considered capable of being a premiership winning midfield. But it is in the making. The main word I've mentioned is consistency. What people saw on Saturday wont happen every week. We will lose games that most suspect we will win. Port are 2-3 years away from being a contender. 8-12 for '07
If White improves at the same rate Lynch did, then it will go a long way.Didn't stop West Coast from winning a flag.. it was early in the season last year when everyone said, they wont win a flag without a decent foward line. There midfield and the improvement of Lynch got them home in the end. With Tredrea, Motlop, White, Lade and Mahoney up in attack our foward line still looks dangerous. However i do agree with everything else you said.
What i saw last week against Freo is a team who without 2 of its best 5 players make a massive comeback away from home put in a overall impressive performance. They are strong in alot of positions. Alot of good tall backmen with Cornes Wakelin Chaplin and also Pettigrew Thurstans to lend a hand. Good forward line. Ebert is a gun. You have Tredrea White who is coming along and Lade who rests down there with Brogan rucking. Good ruck combo with Brogan/Lade and I believe one of the best 3 midfields in the league with alot of good players running through there. Personally I think Eagles v Port Adelaide will be the Grand Final this year. Do you think its a chance or am i rating Port too highly
Port are quite a few years away from another premiership.
can you honestly say you have a midfield which would even come close to ours.
The opposite of anything you predict usually happens![]()
