- Starting to get on top on injuries
- Play the Perth sides in Perth when they are in full on tank mode.
- Play Tiges who'll be in full on tank mode also.
- Sydney away seems a lot easier now with them going downhill, retirements.
- Pendlebury injured vs Collingwood, Leigh Brown still playing.
- Hawks round 22 and they could be no chance for 8 so they might play kids/youth and possibly tank again.

The Eagles, Dockers, Swans, Tiges games should net us 4 wins.

Blues, Pies, Brisbane, Dogs, Hawks, Saints should get us 2 wins at least.

12-10 minimum for the year.

Things go well - 13-9 and pushing top 4

Crazy - 14-8 and top 4 to play Cats and get smashed again.

Can't see the tiges tanking with a caretaker coach. Unless Jade has a contract to coach in 2010, he'll be doing his upmost to get the tiges across the line

We'll lose one or two games we are expected to win (most probably the games in Perth), and probably snag a win or two against sides we are expected to struggle against.

11-11 seems most likely, and 9th spot.

Dont get carried away fellas. We dont know if Mcphee or Prizza will be playing this week. Love the optimism, but lets not delude ourselves about where we are at as a team. Lets just beat the Blues this week...

Bit too early for this talk.

We've only one 1 game on the road under Knights - Freo by 4 points last year.

Couldn't agree more with regards to the injury front. This is our current injury list:

Rhys Magin - AC joint
Scott Gumbleton - Back Indefinite
Jason Laycock - Foot Season
David Hille - ACL Season

It would be nice if it could stay like that for a few more weeks so we can get games into players in Bendigo. Any word on Gumbleton and how he is travelling at the moment? Is he running, kicking?

You're right about injuries, but the rest of those points are overly optimistic. "Hawthorn not making the 8"?? yeah right, they'll cruise through once their injury list dies down and their backline tightens up again.

It's Collingwood vs. Hawthorn for 4th in my opinion, with Adelaide rank outsiders. Brisbane are just playing out of their skins at the moment. They'll be brought back to earth soon enough.

You forgot one.

Love me bombers. However, you are insane. We will be underdogs in our next 4 matches and also have to travel twice to subiaco. If someone told me we lost all six of those matches I wouldnt bat an eyelid. Obviously I hope we don't but this is something I guess you cant see clearly with your one eye. I don't really care if we do fall away, the wins against carlton collingwood and hawthorn were some of the best days/nights ever

I am not so optmistic.
Eagles, Dockers, Swans, Tigers, Blues, Pies, Brisbane, Dogs, Hawks, Saints
If we play like we just played against these teams we could lose everyone of them.

I would be happy to end up 10 / 12 or 11 / 11, I would be jumping for joy if we got better 12/10 or better.

I think we are still in our infancy and just need another footy season or 2 as they say before we are any real contenders.

Great topic / post.

I was thinking about this the other day regarding injuries - we are now almost at a point where we have a 'natural' injury list. I'm not sure exactly what average is, but my guess is we'd almost be there.

I've watched the Melbourne game over a few times and each time I've picked up little things that Prissy does - all those things that make a difference - shepharding hard, knocking the ball to advantage, kicking out in front instead of on the top of a teammate's head. It was actually a pretty bloody good game from him!

I've never been so excited in my life. I'm used to scrolling down to read our injury list god it feels good to only have four players on it. Only two certain starters in our best 22 which is better than the usually, even though i would love to have them in the team.

If we're gonna make finals we MUST beat the majority of carlton, collingwood, hawthorn, brisbane as well as the teams below us. These 4 games are the most important as they're in that logjam and they're "8 point games". 3/4 would be a great result.

He was really impressive, wasn't he. I think we've got ourselves another high-quality midfielder there. Not that that's a revelation, but it's good to know that if Stanton and Lovett are being tagged, or Watson's injured (what else could stop him for a full game), Prismall can step up.

Watching bits and pieces again he did do a lot of things that players with serious talent only do.

I was critical of him last year and thought he might be a tad overrated. He was basically sitting of the packs at Geelong and getting the hard work from the other mids. That was probably his role and he wasn't really cheating.

Some of the awareness of where our players were and the pressure handballs were fantastic.

I can't wait to see how he goes in the next month against better opposition with games under his belt.

I knew it from the second we signed him he'd be our #1 midfielder. He may not be there yet, but come the end of the season, there's going to be a few threads you'll have to merge along the lines of "whose our best midfielder". And I, for one, will be voting for him if he continues his recovery by playing like he did vs. Melbourne.

For mine he was BOG V Melbourne. By year end he & Watson will be our two best mids - thats my prediction. When he reaches a level to attract a tag he will then free up one of either Watson, Lovett, Stanton or Licha which is very damaging.

I've been thinking along the same lines, however have learnt not to post optimistically on the Essendon Boards as it seems after our first loss of the year most posters think we're incapable of another win that season.

For the record i'm thinking things go well and we're 13-9 and have home ground advantage in one of the KO finals.

This is seriously the most positive thing you've ever posted. Well done.

Hopefully things stay that way and we take our rightful place in September.
