Tigers, Blues to pick up rejects
By Jake Niall
November 22, 2003

Richmond and Carlton are poised to bolster their lists with as many as three recycled players each in today's national draft.

The Tigers, who have by far the most picks in the draft, have indicated they will probably pick three and perhaps even four delisted players today.

Richmond is considering drafting former Sydney defender Brad Seymour, who is among the recycled players certain to be picked today.

The Tigers are also keen on former Magpie Rupert Betheras and discarded young Bomber Jordon Bannister and will consider Shannon Motlop, the former Kangaroo. Betheras has been training at Punt Road alongside Simon Fletcher, formerly of Carlton.

Did it give any clue as to which players Carlton were going to pick up?
The Blues, too, are set to use some of their many late picks on seasoned players, with former Hawthorn midfielder Glen Bowyer, Bannister and Robert Forster-Knight (also a former Bomber) all considered chances of wearing navy blue next season, depending on how the cards fall. The Kangaroos are also believed to have expressed interest in Forster-Knight.

The Blues also might add to their threadbare ruck stocks by drafting Port Melbourne's Adrian Deluca, in what would be a left-field choice.

If anyone is listening on the AFL thingee, could they please give a description of the players we pick up. I can't get it and would like to know what they say about the players.

Cheers
