Great win. She is incredibly gutsy and has superb groundstrokes. She was down 1-6, 0-3 against Petrova but managed to claw her way back. Petrova took yet another injury time out after being broken in the 1st game of the 3rd set but Radwanska cruised through the last set despite the blatant cheating by Nadia.

She'll face either Kirilenko or Hantuchova in the Quarters where I think she'll advance. She’s a little ripper this girl.

I agree she is very talented indeed :thumbsu:
However i hope Kirilenko can beat Hantuchova and then take that form into the Radwanska game. That'd be a great game right there.

Is it just me or am I the only one that saw the ridiculously lopsided draws. IMO any draw that has Hanchucova making the quarters/semis has big flaws. I am a big believer that all Grand Slams should be doing what Wimbledon does with the seedings. Honestly you can't have a defending champion seeded 7. There needs to be flexibility in terms of seedings. It is a pity that all Grand Slams are trailing Wimbledon in this regard!

Hanchacova is seeded number 9, and she should've beaten her easily?
Hmm yep...

Ok maybe she should've gone on with it in the second set but credit where credit is due Hanchacova lived up to her ranking and pressured her and made Kirilenko make a few unforced errors.
The last set was all Hanchacova's, she led 5-1 before Kirilenko took the last 3 games and nearly did enough to stay in the game.
That's why it was a brave effort.

You win the 1st set 6-1 you should win easily, end of story. You don't see Sharapova losing a match where she won the 1st set by that scoreline!

Where is Maria Sharapova seeded, 23 places higher?
Kirilenko's still a bit inconsistent, she's not going to maintain that type of intensity for the entire game.
She showed a bit of courage and determination coming from 5-1 down to lose 6-4.
I don't care if you think that the result wasn't good enough but i appreciate the fact that she made an effort and didn't just lie down like many players do when they're getting beaten.
 
At this stage, tomorrow we have what appears to be a doubles match first up on Laver, with Jankovic vs Serena and Nieminen vs Nadal in the day, with Henin vs Sharapova and Tsonga vs Youzhny at night.
 
What a choke by Berdych...he choked at the end of first set and had the 2nd set on his racquet, bad unforced errors on set points killed him
