Between my old man (who played for the club) and me, we've never seen a dumber playing group, at the NMFC. The dead-head decision making, is park standard. The footy IQ is non-existent. Get the ball, bomb it long, without looking. Have the ball in defence, let's all stand there, and not lead. Kick to a player, handball, handball, handball, backwards, sideways, into traffic, gone. Looking forward to the end of the year . We have gotten plenty of games into a lot of younger players this year. Reboot and hopefully the fruits of our labour will start to show more . An experienced coach should help us no end.

Time after time we won the clearance and had nothing fwd but Larkey getting molested by his opponent (Laughable umpiring) and Zurhaar getting double teamed. Whilst the delivery wasnt great the rest of the fwds stunk it up.

Can sleep easily anyway knowing Essendon aren't going anywhere fast. With some more polish ie cunners curtis and stability in young and corr + 5 or 6 less potatoes running around we probably win that match.

I genuinely think if we were coached by Ross Lyon we would have won that game and probably won it comfortably

Not that I necessarily want Lyon to be our next coach, but I wouldn’t mind to see us become a tough team to score against for once in my life.

Missing a number of first-choice selections, and obviously we've got a young list and a caretaker coach, which goes some way to explaining the sheer systemlessness of what we produced today, but hardly excuses it - not when we have that kind of clearance/contested dominance but can't stick a tackle (or even put them under real sustained pressure for very long), or when every hack kick finds an attentive opponent's chest while we're trailing behind, flat-footed, etc.

Too many today who didn't offer nearly enough - easy to point to youth/inexperience, and how it's late in the season, undermanned today, and so on, but that's far from the kind of performance that inspires any optimism about our list moving forward. When a thoroughly mediocre team like Essendon play as though they're taking you lightly, it's clear there's a lot of work to be done.
