I’m happy if the process the club went through found the best available was to promote from within.

they’ve made that call a few times lately, and it seems pretty obvious what our coaching group lacks.

Credit where it’s due though. The VFL team performed admirably and hopefully we actually do have a couple of great young coaches starting to climb the ranks.

Time will tell.

Declining membership, no money left for punt road, I fear the good old days are coming. Save punt road tins, save women's AFLW team stickers, and fundraiser save our teams from punt road tents and homelessness. Bring back Tommy to coach vigils

With not a lot of available assistant coaches it kind of makes sense to promote those who already have an understanding of what Yze is trying to implement and in Batchelors case have shown that they are a decent coach in their own right having taken our VFL program to the finals despite often having very few AFL listed players to call on.

It will be interesting to see who we end up appointing as the VFL coach as well as the new Head of Development.

I think they are planning to not renew yze after 2026 if we have a shite year again and thats why they dont want to spend big now on assistants

none of these are worthy except for caracella. newman- what is our fwd plan mate? zeibell first appt more of a mentor really- i am talking a tried and proven senior mentor that can drive accountability- and someone for yze also.

Reading that there was an interview process and that Jake presented a plan for the backline that was accepted makes me feel a lot more comfortable than just a job for mates

Was also a bloke who got the most out of himself with his footy IQ - those guys usually do make good coaches.

Not a lot of success in that coaches box atm

I'd rate our coaching box experience as above average. 10 AFL flags across 5 coaches. Plus Newy won a VFL flag coaching Box Hill in 2018. It's a pretty decent coaching group with the potential to grow with our young list in coming years. We can always cherry pick here and there to add quality.
