Is Daryl Wilson overrated? Has spent a lot of money at K Flat and Storm for questionable results.

I guess at the Flat in fairness he did get them to a Prelim Final. He has lots of contacts as far as players go and is not a bad bloke. But I know it cost Flat a few dollars and in the end they were not all that dissapointed when he left.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Strath next year.

Did Westy play on saturday? I heard he did. . A bit of a gamble I would have thought.

Yer I think he gets a pass for his time at Kangaroo Flat they were a rabble before he got there and he got them to the cusp of a Grand Final and they have dropped away considerably since he has left again but I think this yeah falls below a pass mark as the comp outside Square isn't that strong and they seen as a top 3 possible with the cattle they had but didn't finish in the top half.

One Message this weekend! GOOOOO DRRRAGGOONSSS!

Whats predictions this week boys?

* I will go Eaglehawk over Gisborne by 6 points &
* Sandhurst over South by 6 goals.

Really looking forward to this game, disapointing Saunders wont get up for it though. Its Gisbornes first look at the "new" QEO, so will be interesting to see how they handle that. I still think we will be good enough to turn the tables on the last two results against Eaglehawk and get up by a couple of goals.

South by 2 points over the Dragons

How do you think the boys from down the calder will be able to turn around the two poor performances against eaglehawk ?
Do they have their full strength side in bar saunders ?
Lets not kid ourselves people we are all playing for 2 nd spot as i just cant see anyone getting near the mighty square team

Both games during the year finished in 15 point wins to Eaglehawk, though Gisborne had a few more scoring shots on both occassions from memory, so i dont believe there is to much between the sides.
If Farrugia plays (i think he will), we will have Saunders and Stewie Hamilton missing from our best side.

I dont think Square can be beat.

close bears but NO cigar Rd 5 at Cantab Park eh 26 scoring shots, gissy 31; Rd 14 at graveyard eh 31 score shots, gissy 29 Results --- eh by 15 pts the 1st time, by 17 the next. no lukey s will hurst gissy but farrugia is a big bonus

Give us a spell.... I did say i was going by memory Bob.

Rd 5 EH 20.6 def Gis 16.15 pretty sure that equals more scoring shots to Gissy.:thumbsu:

The boys looked extra sharp at training last night and Farrugia is a certain starter.

from this distance over in the u.a.e. boys it seems dragonfly and his hurst mates are on a winner looks likely they will beat gisborne next week and then a prelim final to get through before taking on ---- square, most likely
any thoughts. are the dragons good enough to get through 2 more finals before the big dance

Some great games coming up.... The Borough boys were excellent today can the two big boys continue to fire up forward and send some shockwaves through the Bulldogs.

No flexibility in the fixturing come finals? Just checking out the games for teh weekend and I noticed it reads Gisborne v Sandhurt 1's to play on Sunday whilst Gisborne v Sandhurst 2's are to play on Saturday

That's the same with every league:confused:

You can't move games around to suit individual clubs, then you would start having teams with longer and shorter breaks all over the shop. The finals draw is based on when to play that particular final (Qualifying, semi, etc) not what is best for an individual club.

Think you have the wrong mail there mate. Gisborne's 1's, 2's, and 3's as well as 2 netball sides are all playing Sunday i believe.

I stand corrected:eek:

Zakster, not sure who you are referring too when you say ex- VFL player who broke down before season started. Only one I can recall is Taylor Stratton who got injured in a work related incident just after signing with the Storm. Nevertheless he ended up playing half a doz games with us towards the end of the season and showed plenty of promise for next season.

As for the J West, think you are being a bit unfair to Joel. Had the arduous task of being double teamed in most games he played and whilst his possession tally may not have been high, he took some big hits and created plenty of opportunities for our running midfield brigade to swoop on the ball after getting the ball to ground.

As for Cam Hall it seems to me that you have become lazy with your journalistic powers. Everyone knows that Cam Hall and brother Brenton went back to Birchip to play with his home club for the season. $$$$ had nothing to do with it - more for a family reason, which the club respected. Cam and Brenton have indicated that they would love to come back to the Storm, which hopefully will be in the not too distant future.....

Well it's all set for a massive second week of finals action!

Personally I think the Dragons are going to have to raise the bar a bit if they are too get over the top of Gisborne but the boys are well and truly capable of it. A straight leg from Matty Thornton who was marking like a machine will help for a start.

Michael Hill is fast turning into one of my fav players I thought he was awesome last saty night & hopefully Hilly can fire again. Dragons by 10 points.

The 2nd Semi will be an interesting match, Square have been all over the Borough and got them by 40 odd points the other week at Canterbury when one umpire came under fire on an offical basis for some bias towards the Hawks. Golden Square by 60 points.

Whats everyone's thoughts? Bearsboy your tipping was on the nose last week :)

Dragons by alot. 8 goals odd, think their run will be to much for Gisborne at the QEO. Now that Sandhurst are fit they (Gisborne) wont control them like they did at Huntly. Think Square will win but Eaglehawk may worry them with tall forwards v Dogs not overly tall defence. Confident the Dragons play the Hawks in prelim and it will be the game of the Finals..:footy:
Lee Coghlan and Jack Geary to relish finals at the QEO this week....

Anybody seen the ad on the website, whats the point of Bristow being there?? Doesnt get a look in

What's the story with that score?

I suppose it would seem to be some kind of victory for Eaglehawk to be able to say they kept Weeks to 1 goal!
