Best non-team AFL theme song?

The Thing about football is the best non-team footy song ever. Period.

But if we're talking about club songs that teams dont run out to, it'd have to be Our Hearts Beat Red and Blue for the MFC.
Have any other clubs made up a song of their own like this?

Yeah, Greg Champion's That's the Thing About Football is excellent, same with the classic Up there Cazaly.

The Holy Grail is awesome. I know it is used world wide, but it is still used as an AFL theme song, so it's a valid answer.

I'm not sure how many of you remember the "100 years of football" song for the 1996 (centenary) season. It went something like this:

Thank you for the laughter and I thank you for the tears, and thank you just for being here for all these hundred years.

Greg Champion's Plugger Be Good is also a good song.

Does anyone have the full lyrics to "One Day in September"

I was looking for them a while ago.

One Day In September

Well you put alot in, and you worked real hard.
There were days when you tried, there were days when you starred.
Tryin' to please the crowd when they're unforgivin',
There are easier ways to make a livin'.
Well we've come a long way since the start of things,
We've seen the joy that hard works brings.
You've made us cry, you've made us smile,
You've hit the front, now it's all worthwhile.

'Cos there's One Day In September,
We want to remember,
There isn't any doubting, we'll be in there shouting.
Football's such a part of this whole town.
And we know that you won't let us down.

Well there's nothing better than a nice good win,
There's no second prize if you let 'em in.
You've gotta give your best, then give again,
Out there, there's no such thing as friends.
Well we've been our best and we've been our worst,
If we do it right well we'll come home first.
We gotta get in there and make 'em sag,
We'll hit 'em hard and take the flag.

'Cos there's One Day In September,
We want to remember.
There isn't any doubting, we'll be in there shouting.
Football's such a part of this whole town,
(Football's such a part of this whole town),
And we know that you won't let us down.

'Cos there's One Day In September,
In there and fight.
'Cos there's One Day In September,
Show 'em your might.
'Cos there's One Day In September,
Don't let 'em in.
Football's such a part of this whole town,
(Football's such a part of this whole town)
And we know that you won't let us down.

'Cos there's One Day In September,
In there and fight.
'Cos we've made it to the finals,
Show 'em your might.
'Cos there's One Day In September,
Don't let 'em in.
Footy's such a part of this whole town,
(Football's such a part of this whole town)
And we know that you won't let us dooooooooooooown.

The Football Song

When the football season comes around again,
And the fans are swarming to the grounds again,
There's a kind of fever that keeps us on our toes,
Hear! The fans are roaring, as the whistle blows.

Though it's pouring and your team's behind,
Still you never throw in the glove,
'Cos it's football season,
And that's the reason, it's the time of the year that we love.

When the football season comes around again,
And the fans are swarming to the grounds again,
There's a kind of fever that keeps us on our toes,
Hear! The fans are roaring, as the whistle blows.

Though it's pouring and your team's behind,
Still you never throw in the glooooove,
'Cos it's football season,
And that's the reason,
It's the time of the year that we looove.

Though it's pouring and your team's behind,
Still you never throw in the glooove,
'Cos it's football season,
And that's the reason,
Grab your coat and your rug,
And your thermos and mug,
Let it rain, let it shine.
Though your team is behind.
It's the football season, the football season.
It's the tiiime of the yeeeear, that we looooove.

Does anyone remember "The Footy's Back In Town"?
I quite enjoyed that, and also "Up There Cazaly" are quality audio.

Up There Cazaly
Well you work to earn a living,
But on weekends comes the time,
You can do whatever turns you on,
Get out and clear your mind.
Me? I like football, well there's a lot of things around,
But when you line them up together,
The footy wins hands dooooooooown.

Up there Cazaly.
In there and fight,
Out there and at 'em,
Show 'em your might.
Up there Cazaly.
Don't let 'em in,
Fly like an angel,
You're out there to win.

Now there's a lot more things to football,
Than really meets the eye.
There are days when you could give it up,
There are days when you could cry.
You either love or hate it, depending on the score,
But when the team run out, or they kick a goal,
How's the mighty ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR?

Up there Cazaly.
In there and fight,
Out there and at 'em,
Show 'em your might.
Up there Cazaly.
Don't let 'em in,
Fly like an angel,
You're out there to win.

Up there Cazaly.
You're out there to win,
In there and at 'em,
Don't let 'em in,
Up there Cazaly.
Show 'em your hide,
Fight like the devil,
The crowd's on your side.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuup there Cazaly.
In there and fight,
Out there and at 'em,
Show 'em your might,
Up there Cazaly.
Show 'em your hide,
Fight like the devil,
The crowd's on your side.

The..Croooowd's...on your siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

Yeah, best song; aside from anything else probably the only song written/performed by an Aussie rules fan. Liked Tina Turners Simply the Best even if Thugby League did pinch it.
