#1s always get more scrutiny, just look at Jack Watts.Interesting how the AFL media are quick to jump on blokes like Weitering etc. as not developing properly. Look at some of the other players from the same draft.
Schache, Francis, Weideman... What have they done?
Got it. So many others don't get it66 games to get to a starting point?
Zac Fisher really has come on more than anyone could have realistically hoped.View attachment 528980

Game 60, of a 66 Game Rebuild, the marathon is almost over (if it will ever be over). The AFL Player Ratings are taking a dip, after climbing to a high after Game 57, our recent performances has sent the metre spiralling downward. The bridge created by our average player ratings is so perfect you could fit a troll under there to talk to kids.
My apologies for the lack of constant games updates, the end is coming up to be honest, i'm daunted by the though (but actually i've just been super busy).
Patrick Cripps soldiered on through a quagmire of limpless efforts the past fortnight. Against the Saints he had 35 disposals including his usual 23 contested possessions at 86% efficiency. He also had 10 contested, 1 goal and and a lazy 8 Coaches Votes. Charlie Curnow also had an astounding game as always. He had 16 touches, 5 marks, 5 1%ers and a goal. Zac Fisher has 22 touches, 3 clearances, 5 tackles and his standard excellent goal from 50m+. I can't go through every player but there wasn't a whole lot else going on.
There's big things brewing, the thread is culminating, and trust me THE BLUES are coming.
Fisher has now pulled ahead of Samo with 2 games up his sleeve. Quite the sophomore year.
Having a great year, now at +233 for the season. A strong finish to the year could see him push towards that top 200 which would be a phenomenal achievement.
Wonder where he sits with regards to largest overall ranking increases across the competition, he's got to be close to the top surely.
For two years in a row we've had someone rise by more than 230 in the rankings, Charlie last year and Fish this year. Will be interesting to see if someone can do it in 2019.

That’s a cop outCorrect
Expecting Paddy Dow to have a significant 2nd year, hopefully another 200+. The ranking system seems to like him despite the modest numbers.
If Fish can go up by 5 ranking spots a week for the remainder of the season while doc and plow drop by about 5 a week he'll be up 3rd behind Cripps & Charlie.Fisher has now pulled ahead of Samo with 2 games up his sleeve. Quite the sophomore year.

Charlie is a gun and imo already a top 100 player in the league.Charlie will maybe crack the top 100 this year … absolutely staggering.

As a rankings system, I think it's such a flawed system though, Zorko is not the 4th best player in the league. There are not 200 players better than Docherty come round 1 next year.
It should be rolling 40 games, but take the best 30 from that period. Therefore if you're injured, you still get a small penalty in that you have less sample size to get your best games...but you don't get a 0.It rewards consistency, a decent system. Doc is just the victim of LTI but will be back in the top 100 in a couple of years.
66 games to get to a starting point?
Critical mass exactly the right word. We need 20+ players in a four to five year age bracket.Correct.
The AFL is a grown man's league, unfortunately. Need a critical mass of developed men to win.
