Not my quotes Carl, just the delusional mutteringings of the "It's all Craigy's fault, Bicks has made such a difference" crew.

In fairness, none of the quotes are from you, it would need a much more patient person to find a positive quote.

And not the first time you've quoted them either :)

The OP was wrong.

Craig could coach a team to a thrashing just as good as Bickley can. :D

hehe :D

Glad it's all over to be honest. Hoping the forum can move away from the overwhelming negativity now that Craig has gone.

He still won three games, which was just one less than Craig in a third of the time.

A Few Good Men - the point of discussion was never about the effect the changes had (that was merely a bonus), but simply that there were changes. This was stated repeatedly. Nobody was expecting the caretaker to take us to the promised land.

Short of outright denying them, you use the 95 point loss as fuel to say they never existed. It's a stealthy ploy (perhaps you could teach Neil Craig this trait), but unfortunately it isn't fooling anyone.

Bickley did a reasonable job as caretaker. When the new coach takes over, one would expect many more changes to be made. Will you be able to handle these AFGM?

And as I have stated over the last six weeks, there have been no significant changes in player selection, team positioning and game plan compared to the 16 weeks under Craig. They aint what a lot of people were saying after the Geelong match.

Just come out and say "We were wrong" and let's leave it at that.

There are selection changes, position changes and game plan changes every week. Can you seriously say that moving Otten to the wing, Petrenko to small forward and van Berlo onto the ball (where he played most of the season) was revolutionary? The crap written on this board and in the media about the exciting new game plan has been demonstrated to be exactly that. When we played teams that had "Put the cue in the rack" in June our risk taking, play down the corridor footy looked good. In the last two weeks the opposition put some pressure on us and what do you think happened?

The situation is exactly the same as it has been for the last two years. Our team is very inexperienced and we lack a core of elite players. How we ended up in this situation is something that we can discuss over the summer.

And as I have stated over the last six weeks, there have been no significant changes in player selection, .

If you are going to so blatantly deny the facts, it is useless going further. The Captain of the football club said categorically that the selection policy toward Taylor Walker had changed. This has been sourced and quoted numerous times in this thread, and yet you've continued to ignore it.

I'm done arguing with you champ.

And thank God we have now built our forward line around the hard leading, pack crashing, contested marking champion

So the compelling evidence of an amazing change since Neil Craig's departure is a comment from our captain.

Are you willing to accept other comments from Nathan in the first 16 matches regarding the fantastic job that Neil was doing, how we are "on track" to achieve our potential etc, etc?

All posters who believe the team has turned things around since Bicks has taken over please raise your hand and I will provide "facts" to rip this argument to shreads.

What about the quality of Neil's wins, three wins against top eight teams including come from behind victories over Hawthorn and Sydney.

Bicks got a shit job to have to play coack for 4 games when the season is over. Was never in the running, but may have hurt his assistance coaching chances elsewhere.

Quick!! Sign him up again!! :)

Wait!!

What about the quality of many other matches?? e.g. Melbourne and St Kilda?

Time to move on mate. Under Craig we were gradually deteriorating into a rabble playing an outdated game plan. It was only going to get worse!!

I defended Craig as long as I could, but eventually there comes a time when you really open your eyes and realize that the actual doesn't match the spin. :(

I think they were saying the other day he was under consideration for an assistant role at either Doggies or Melbourne?

Bickley simply did away with the structures that are not going to be part of our game anymore now that Craig has gone. He didn't replace them with anything, because you can't develop new structures on the fly in the final six weeks, and it would be particularly pointless to try to get us playing a new brand of football for six weeks if Bickley doesn't even end up being our head coach afterwards.

So we have just played footy, relying on natural talent. That carried us to three victories over terrible sides, and saw us beaten by good footy sides.

Nothing we have seen over the last six weeks has any bearing on our team going forward, nor on Bickley's coaching ability. The way we played in the last six weeks is not the way we will play next year, and the way Bicks coached in the last six weeks is not the way he will coach if he ever gets a full time gig.

Well glad i am not flying solo when it comes to Walker. For mine still has more ?s over his head than ticks.

As for bicks i still think he will get the job but 3 wins against the 2 teams that came equal bottom and 15th.

The Cats game was the best and as i said give me 22 weeks of that and there will be no complaints.

The only ? over Walker's head is whether he'll reach 500 career goals or not.

That heartens me greatly.

I don't want Bicks as our coach next year, and given your track record, he now has no chance whatsoever! :)

A 2 time premiership captain under Blight with a few years experience under an alleged respected coach in Neil Craig - i wouldn't have thought so.

He will get snapped up, if he wants to move.

Hilarious babble aside, do you think we should we have kept him on our list? If he is on our list, should we pick him in our 22? Just a simple yes or no to both please.
