Gidday Crackers.How's it going ?

No, but he made sure he held the club to ransome when he and his old man, Rod Blake sat down with the club during negotiations - part of the reason he stayed, was under the condition that King was gone.

Is that why King chose to leave (according to our skipper) when there was an offer from the club to stay?
King went for more $$$. The deal was for one year, he went for the added security. All this shit about King being pushed out by Blake is completely false.
Can't wait for Crackers' column once King breaks down 4 weeks into the season.
Actually, I just realised that the 4th game is the St. Kilda game where it will be Blake v King at some stage. Will be interesting to read his self-important drivel prior to and after the game.
King will have broken down by thenYou might get it sooner - if Geelong and St Kilda both win their opening NAB cup games they meet in the 2nd round
yeah good on him - Geelong better return the favor next year!Blake has heart, that much is certain. He has channeled his disappointment into his will to succeed and that is the mark of a winner. Good on him.![]()
Ah, actually you are wrong. Geelong took the offer off the table on Wednesday of trade week after meeting with the Blakes'. Mark decided not to leave the club after viewing other offers, on the condition that King was gone. If you look at the deal King has now at St Kilda, I think you will find it is only a 1 year deal (with an option, but that is not worth anything as it will be reviewed either way at years end) and on the same money Geelong offered.
King was pushed out, it was also in the papers that Geelong asked him to retire.... why would they do so if he was going to be a required player?
Are you privy to inside confidential information that nobody else has access to?
If not it's entirely speculation on your part that Geelong caved in to demands from Blake to give King the flick.
'With Blake considering walking out in the wake of his demotion, there has been speculation his management intimated to Geelong the club was not big enough for the pair of them. If King stayed, 22-year-old future star Blake went.
"To be honest, I am not really sure what happened," King said.
"I have heard from a couple of people that might have been the case. If there was an offer from Geelong, I would have stayed.
"I am not bitter towards the club, but it was just funny to see I had something at the start of the week, then halfway through the week I didn't.'

Mate, well done, you were spot on. Well done.
The whole King/Blake thing is getting old. People need to let it go. I think we should all just agree on the following and move on:
- King was a great servant to the club and sacrificed his body (and a large chunk of the prime of his career) by playing injured for a long time.
- Blake came of age as a tap ruckman last year (although around the ground he still needs a lot of work) and at 22 is a big part of the Cats future
- The match committee made the right choice to selelct King in the GF, given Port's ruck strength and the fact that Blake was gassed by the end of the season. This was shown to be true in the GF by King's performance.
- Both players deserved a spot in the GF (Blake due to his 2007 season and King for his 10+ years of service to the club through good and bad times) but one of them had to miss.
- The match committee made the correct choice in Blake over King to stay on the list. A 22yo developing ruckman over a broken down ruckman who can't play more than 10 games a season is a no brainer in my eyes.
- We all hope Blake has a stellar career for the Cats over the next 8+ years.
- We all wish King the best for his second career at the Saints.
And can this PLEASE be the last we hear of the Blake/King thing. It is getting very boring.
Move along people, there is nothing to see here.....
