Bad luck guys - you deserved to win.

Bomber's decision to go the full flood in the last five minutes of game time was a shocker. You had to attack to win. Blight said it - they can't win without kicking another goal.

Poor coaching cost you guys a great win.

You were the much better side all night.

Dont F&$%ing blame bomber you fool... Bomber cannot get out there and play. If he could, he would have. It was left to the players, nothing bomber could do.

I thought he coached well tonight!

That is the stupidest thing i have heard in a long time.

There goes any credibility ur story had - didn't Blight get the sack 5 rounds before the season was over last time he tried to coach???

Bomber and the Cats all they way in '06! (for ******** sake Ottens get over ur injuries and play footy next yr otherwise we'll cry for Moloney back)

Sorry mate but the coach determines the flood. You went from attacking for three and three quarters to going full defence in the last few minutes.
Bad coaching - you needed to keep attacking. Your attack all night was fantastic. I have never seen a Geelong team tackle so well but you were never going to win with every one of your players in the defensive fifty for the last few minutes. It was a panic move by a weak coach.
Your players deserved the trust that they could still play better.
My team were humiliated last week - your team deserved to win but were let down when it counted by a coack panicking.

If we woulda won by attacking ... how come the attacking for the second half saw Sydney fight their way back into thecontest? U 0bviously dont know what ur talking about ... number of AFL teams u'v ever coached to victory? None. Thompson? Plenty. Result? You'v got no idea - rest ur case and shh!

Clearly you were watching another game.

Your attacking kept you three to four goals in front till into the last quarter. Only when you stopped attacking and then went the flood did you lose.

Anyway - thats just my opinion. Good luck for next season - you had a much more honorable finish than my team.

You are right, people are just too angry.

From a RICHMOND supporter's point of view. Personally, don't have allegience to either side, so don't believe I'm biased either way.

However, do think Thompson went in with a flooding plan against the Swans tonight, exactly the same plan the Swans use at the SCG all the time. Choke the opposition and run over them in the last quarter. It makes for boring viewing, and the size of the ground definitely has a lot to do with it. Doubt the Swans can do it next week on the G.

I have to say the plan went well for 3 quarters, but perhaps the loss of King left you a little short of tall options in the forward line in the last.

Perhaps the best sign for Cats supporters was mooney and others crying after the game. That's what you want to see as a supporter, players passionate about the result and emotional about losing. You know they want to play and win for their club.

BTW, notice G Ablett JNR tries to give the don't argue fend off ALL THE TIME. Have you noticed that? His father used to do it quite a lot. Surely opposition players must wake up to this and grab the hand as a tackle to curb this tactic soon? It's ridiculous how many times he gets free by doing this.

Bad luck guys tonight & i do mean that in all sincerity as i really had hoped that you could go all the way this year. I'm still at work & i can't believe that you lost that game, keeping in mind that i never watched any of the game & can only go by what MMM were saying on the radio. Do you think it was a case of the players going a little too defensive in the last 8 minutes or did the players just relax a little bit & the Swans picked up their work rate?
All the best for next year anyway as you have got a very good squad of players that can only get better as they get more games under their belt. :)

Well my furniture copped an absolute hiding in that last quarter and 15km later and a couple of hourse sobering up I'm calmed down enough to post.

When "Chappy" Johnson iced that goal in the last quarter, I thought to myself "one goal will win it". So, instead of that goal, we go ultra defensive and try to hold the 22 point lead and what do you know we ********ing weell lose it yb less than a kick.

We dominated the play and had the game under our keeping, why givve the swans the initiative, the run, the possession, the territory? It was pathetic coaching. Yes, Davis took 4 good opportunistic goals but he shouldn't have had that chance. When we had the initiative we kicked the opportunistic goals (Gardiner and Playfair come to mind). Thar's the way it goes.

How many times has the exact same thingf happened under bombers reign (especia;l;y interstate), otoo many to bloody well count!

I;m one ********ed off cats fan right abouyt now!!!

Farewell Geelong & the AFL

Sitting on my bed watching the last quarter unfold I said to myself, no, they can't let it happen again! Yep - they did.

Last night was a perfect example of just how woeful Geelong can be. They dictated the terms of the game up until about 10 minutes into the last quarter and Sydney were playing shocking football but did Geelong take advantage of this - OF COURSE NOT!!

I'm not going to waste my time with an essay length post of why I'm giving up on ******** poor Geelong and the AFL (not local footy). What I will say is what a believe needs to happen for those of you who decide you have the patience to follow this bunch of idiots.

The club must sack its selectors as these guys couldn't organise a brothel if it was for free! They have no idea on how to put together a team that will go all the way, especially a functioning forward line.

Lastly, the club needs to trade both Kingsley and Playfair.

One thing about Geelong that has mystified me for the entire season is why the hell was Kingsley in the side. The guy cannot kick, he has no 'football brain' and he cannot mark. For some reason he has a problem with sticking out his mits when trying to mark on a lead and I can't remember the last time I saw him jump in a pack. Now, if there is something hindering him from doing these things, in other words an injury, then, again, why was he in the side!?

Playfair set the tone for the way Geelong was going to play last night as far as I was concerned. When he took that mark about 20-30 metres out from goal and instead of going back and having a set shot, the idiot decides to handball to Johnson who had two opposition players right in front of him! Playfair has no idea on how to play the game and he cannot kick to save his life.

So with that being said I wish those of you who are going to put your insanity to the test and continue to follow Geelong the best of luck.

For me it's no more time spent with following this team or the AFL in general.

You are either a complete idiot, or in denial still from last night. The reason Kingsly is in the team is because he is the best we have, and he had a great year this year. He kickde 60 odd goals, where were they gonna come from if he asnt in the team huh????? Geelong crumbing forwards need to egt smarter.. balls constantly fly out the back in a kingsly contest because he leads up to far... so atleast 1 crumber should stay at the back.

And with Playfair, well he was going great till he had an injury and never looked the same. But he does make a contest. I agree though, he shoulda taken the kick 20 meters out and not passes to SJ

Sounds more like a Richmond Supporter than a Cats one. Go Cry in you own Dark Dingy smelly Teenage ******** stained room. I hope you never Follow a Geelong game again.

We Lost If you decide to give up you are jsut a weak tool!

How can ciaobella say that about the way our team played? The boys tried their guts out and I AM VERY PROUD OF THEM. Hold your head high boys! I was frustrated last night. In one of my recent posts about last nights game I asked many critical questions but that doesn't mean that I am disappointed with our team.

We need to focus on re-signing Bartel, recovery of our injured, nuturing of our younger players and re-load for next season. As the godfather (Costa) said there's no point crying over spilt milk.

I have full confidence in our playing list, our coaching staff and our administration. We have been patient for a long time now, a little more time won't hurt. We have seen dark, dark and terrible times and we can not have a victory without a struggle. This is our struggle and we shall come out of this for the better in the future.

Full steam ahead boys! I am looking forward to seeing our cabinet full of trophies and flags in the years to come!
