His first preseason game for us. At Princes Park.It was during a practice match against * I think. Went for a speccy and landed flat on his back. He was looking good too, and it stuffed his whole year.
And did Russel leave the tennis ball out?Until we learn that Andrew Russell was the person who caused Liam’s training accident, I would hold off on that one.
Yeah but… Russell… Tennis balls.Injuries happen at every club in every sport so unless it’s someone doing something stupid (eg Stephenson getting pissed and falling off his bike) then it’s quite pointless looking for blame or thinking it’s something specific to the club.
Obviously it’s very frustrating for both the player and the club but let’s hope Stocker and club specialists can make it a full recovery and return so he can build on the good signs he showed last season.
I've been slacking off on reading on here. The first time I did a grade 2 ankle ligament tear, I was back up and running in about 6-8 weeks. Was on crutches for 2 weeks, hobbling around with 1 crutch for another 2 weeks and finally being able to wear a pair of work boots by the end of week 4. Walking normally for 2 weeks without any aides and back to normal and running about 6-8 weeks after I did it.Fisher missed 7 weeks with the same injury. 6 months seems alarmist.
Foot surgery can be troublesome, my brother hurt his foot stumbling off a ladder. Doc put him in a moon boot initially but it wasn't healing. He had surgery to put pins in stuff, he had to spend 10-12 weeks with foot elevated and no weight on it whatsoever. Only necessary stuff like going to the toilet. Taking its time to heal and its been 16 odd weeks.I've been slacking off on reading on here. The first time I did a grade 2 ankle ligament tear, I was back up and running in about 6-8 weeks. Second time I did it, it was about 6 months before I could walk without any pain. I never had surgery or anything to fix it and as a result, I have stability issues in my left ankle. If I roll my ankle, it will just keep going and I will be on the ground.
I think having the surgery is just to assist it in healing quicker without the issues I had with the second (stretching in the ligament and instability in the ankle later on). With a bit of luck, it won't be 6 months... it'll be more like 3.
Feet are different to ankles though…. Just fyiFoot surgery can be troublesome, my brother hurt his foot stumbling off a ladder. Doc put him in a moon boot initially but it wasn't healing.
