With 2e gone, Byrne out for most of 2017 and Gus still struggling with injury, I think there's a spot for the taking in the back six regardless of Marchy coming in. McKenzie and Liquorland are different players but both could get an opportunity with us and are young enough to justify. Whether we take one of them instead of a pick in the 70s or 80s is the question.
Agree. Litherland for mine.

After being in the team this long, I can't imagine they would retain him in any form if he were delisted. They'd surely know whether he has the ability or potential they are after by now.
What year was Graham drafted?
he has had at least 3 coaches in his time with us (same with most other people on the list...
Its not a surprise to me that the development of a few has stalled.

There's still room to keep Graham and take a DFA. We could probably take two DFAs and still not delist anymore.

All depends how we want to keep the rookie list. 39/5 or 40/4 etc
Pick 70 is a factor here.

If our intention is to retain/re-rookie Sheehan and have White on the list in 2017, we have zero reason to pursue either player.

If we don't, then we'd probably look at Ricky Henderson first.

If they're re-taking Sheehan (which they are), then he must have had a good follow-up after his last (minor) surgery, so you can't help but think he's going to get a full pre-season in. Remember his season ended with knee and hamstring injuries in round 14 after a collision.

Anyway, if he has a full pre-season, lock him in for round 1.

Optimistically, I can't help but agree. But on the other hand I'm not so bullish about Gus given he has still only played a handful of AFL games and not many more VFL games in his 3 years at the club. At this point, there's a better chance that he simply won't make it.

2017 might be the last year at the club if he doesn't get a clean run at it and doesn't show some real potential.

Also remember his season started (in mid December 2015) with 3 (or even more) months in a moon boot..

Worth remembering also that Graham may have had to change his natural game more than most in order to get a game under Mick.

It wasnt until late in Micks second year that Graham looked quality in the seniors, I'd be keen to see where he can get to under a second year of Bolts.

Bit disappointing if it eventuates...personally still think Graham could become a player if he gains a bit more confidence...seems well adjusted off field and speaks well to the camera.

It was only last year where he was looking really promising.

Also, fair chance the club would prefer to delist someone else instead like Jones or even Jaksch (given our hard stance on slackers) but aren't willing to because they have a contract, leaving Graham to get cut. That would suck.
i dont mind nicky g but has no obvious elite trait and at best seems like an honest player. if we got grigg then yep so ya later ng. grigg is unlikely to a be a superstar however his kicking looks fantastic and is one part of his game that could be come elite - has been starved of opportunities so might have better upside than NG

we have too many blokes with low to minimal impact on games - ng, bb, dt, db, sw, sr, jl, lj, lc etc..........problems mostly forward of the centreline.....

A few of those guys should be able to make more impact though, yet they don't.. hopefully Lamb, Boekhorst, Sumner.. and those we added to the list with trades (Smedts, Pickett and Marchbank) can have breakout years in 2017...
