Yes, he came back almost straight away after doing his shoulder before the bye. Also played a tagging/negating role sometimes this season.
This and in 2016 he was accumulating disposals with no real impact (pretty much what Tom Mitchell does for Hawthorn) like when he got 48 against us but we still beat them in'16.

Fagan has him doing a more constructive role for the lions in 2017, like when he towelled up Gibbsy.

reminds me of the roles Gibbs was asked to play early on- at the expense of his creativity and impact on the game

This was the first year in a while he wasn't simply given a pure unaccountable "see ball, get ball, make tackle" sort of midfield role and it seemed like he played a lot more forward than he usually did (as well as his tagging jobs). 2014 was his big year for raw stats. The basic trend suggests he's in for a big 2018.

2014: 33 av disposals, 0.6 av goals, 5 av marks, 9 av tackles.
2015: 25, 0.3, 4, 8
2016: 30, 0.9, 4, 7
2017: 24, 0.8, 5, 6

Not sure if the club should be tied down to a long term expensive contract for Rockliff. He'd be good for a couple of years while our young mids develop, but he wouldn't switch to Carlton for only 2 years.

Lose Gibbs and we should definitely go after Rockliff. In fact, go after him anyway, he costs nothing but $ and we seems to have plenty of room there.

Somehow keep Gibbs and recruit Josh Kelly and then get Rockliff via free agency and we are back as a top 8 contender. Charlie goes nuts, SPS becomes a bonifide star, Weiters a key forward and we are challenging in the Murphy/Gibbs/Kruezer era again.

Alright, I should have put him in the tool bit not the clogger bit. Apologies!

But your all awake! That is for sure.

I reckon the bloke looks and plays like a selfish twat. Yes he can play but do we really want him in our club when we are rebuilding a great culture?

I am not a fan and never will be. It was like when we had Brock McLean, couldn't stand him. But if I was going to argue against myself (which happens from time to time) I also hate Jordan Lewis and we he can play a bit too.

In a nutshell = I don't like him and my opinion is irrational and baseless.

Rocky would be a more than handy addition to the side regardless of how bad he rubs people (supporters) the wrong way.

On ability he's as good as
Murph and can do it forward or centre as well

He's 27 now. Personally can't see it happening.

A bit optimistic there...
1) Kelly is a long shot
2) Rockliff will have plenty of suitors. He has to want to join Carlton too and given his age I could see him more wanting to be at a flag contender.

That last sentence suggests you've come to the right place to vent [emoji3]

Carlton or Bigfooty?

All I'm saying is that he could turn out to be a handy ******** ala Rhys Jones or a disruptive influence ala Robinson.

We have a young list, they will be influenced by their peers and leaders.

You never know, he might be a good bloke but his narcissistic behaviour

He'll be 28 for the entirety of next season.

No reason why he shouldn't get a 3-4 year deal.
