Well that's the thing.

Sauce is a ruck, Kennedy a forward.................got no idea what Hampson was meant to be.

Godknows how many hours we put into him.

Hampson has the hardest set of hands in the game.
How many times did we see him actually get some space between himself and his opponent only to see him drop the mark.

Frustrating.

The very definition of a project player. A 200 cm tall athletic soccer player that with a bit of coaching can become a ruck/forward, forward/ruck, ruck, or forward. Or none of those.

In the end we turned him into Sam Docherty, which is a fine piece of development if you ask me.

Who said we have a problem with player development????

Who said we have a problem with player development????

Kane Lucas, from go to whoa in his time at the club was a prime example of bad player development, mind you, from all reports he may have been bit of a slacker with a poor attitude (just based on some posts I have read here) so don't think its all the club's fault.

The club now (finally) actually takes into account player's attitudes and work ethic when they do player interviews at draft camp.

Cripps especially seems like one of those who tears up the training track, in a desire to better himself as a player.

I loved Hammer. Did some good things and then followed it up with some things that just left you shaking your head.
I was a fan too Jatzy. Went in to bat with the Wookie about everyone being unfair on him and that he would come good, as soon as the gap between his best and worst could be narrowed. Unfortunately it proved to be a gulf rather than a gap and not even Moses could have parted it.

Docherty... But anyway - Hampson universally maligned but he'd still be a better contributor than Wood or Warnock (pantsed by Daniher and Carlisle )

Our ruck division is now completely cactus for the next decade. Kreuzer is our only ruck prospect under 26 and perish the thought if his foot is completely stuffed like Matty Allan's.

You're a bit harsh on Wood. He's no world beater, but he competes well and negates most opposition rucks. Works around the ground as well.

I was dubious about picking him up, but he's shown enough since arriving to start as #1 ruck this year.

Reading the list of players GWS out of contract at seasons end. WHE is the pick of the bunch for me.
Surprised there hasn't been more hype around his contract status.
Still rather DS or AT anyday of the week - any one of those OR WHE would cost a first rounder and some IMO, which I'd pay despite the picks.

Hampson got even worse at Richmond though....

Who is our ruck coach again?

He might have broken even a few times and I can forgive him for that last minute brain fade. But aside from playing a depleted Suns outfit, I can't really recall him dominating a game.

He'll start first ruck ahead of Warnock but let's be honest; we'll be trailing most other clubs on ruckwork for 2015.

With Warnock its almost as much percieved effort that turns people off. He looks spent when the oppositions ruckmen looks to have plenty in the tank. This body language is so negative, and it gives our opposition the mental edge that we seem to lack.

One thing I was always told in footy, no matter how tired or sore you are, you never show it.
He's lazy. That or he doesn't have the urge to break through that pain barrier. Either way, he undoes what little he does well.

I'd much rather put up with wood's deficiencies because you can see he busts his guts out there.

How would he be better? the guy has never played a game passed round 15 in his career.

IMO Wood is well ahead of all mentioned. He has tidy skills, can mark, can kick. He does his job.

Could well end up with The Dogs. Seeds were planted some time ago..........apparently.

Anything can happen at trade time as we have seen. I was just pointing out that I think he is the pick of there young guns.
I think he might move into there midfield this year he has serious pace.

Holman as well. Would go through a brick wall for the footy.

I thought Hampson was better than most here would admit, and I tend to agree with the assessment. That said Wood did ok when he came on, and he should be frst ruck start of this season with casboult/rowe backing him up.
