...Obviously we told you the price for Spangher, they said they didnt like it and are now pretending......

We were never interested in Spangher - doesn't have the talent to justify a spot on our list. Most of the rumours were being pushed from pro-Weagles WA-media trying to attract our interest. We're not interested. Deal with it. Everitt however, is a player we have said we'd like if we can get a sensible deal together. :)

So Spangher and AE... I don't rate either... I would rather go after one of Melbourne's defenders in Warnock, Frawley or their other player that got injured early this year who's name has slipped my mind

Those who claim to be in the know over at Talking Carlton have reported:

Everitt + Bulldogs 3rd round pick for Austin + Carltons 2nd round pick.
i wouldnt like to see Aussie go,can see alot of potential in this bloke he can play back or forward IMO.I'd be looking at giving them #27 and fisher/irish.
Funny though alot of Bullies posters here are ignoring the salary cap pressure the Bulldogs are under, seems they can have Lake,Aker and Hall with no problem cap pressure at all

What are the Bulldogs' ruck stocks like? Obviously Hudosn is there No.1 ruckman, with Minson in the mix also. I just wonder if we packaged #27 & Sam Jacobs, who could get more game time at the Doggies, which allows Minson to play as a more permanent forward.

We have Roughead and Cordy in development.

Unfortunately the Dogs have a salary cap problem...particularly if Barry Hall lines up for you.

Apart from this article do you have evidence of it?

Now that would make me really angry.
Austins a great investment and to deal with a guy who can't get his body right to that level would be crazy.

I hope you're having us on there C4

I would rather keep both Austin and Grigg but also think Everitt would be a great trade but I think if we were to trade one of them, they would have to give the sweetner not us.

Why on earth would we even considder that?

Austin is already just as good, if not ahead of Everitt at this stage.

No way, no no way.

There's no way this would happen. Complete bullshit.

Everitt is loving his time at the Bulldogs and has signed a new contract. The club is very keen on his development and will be a regular player in our team next year. He is also best friends with Jarrad Grant. He wears the Number 3.

There is no way he is leaving.

End.

getting rid of Austin is one less reason why Gibbs should stay with us forever. As much as i see Austin becoming a good player, i the more important reason to keep him is to not give Bryce any ammunition to leave our club...

I for one would be p!ssed if we made that trade or anything involving GRIGG.

pick 27 + Fisher im more than happy with... W.B get a 2nd round pick + a potential 40 goal kicker next year.

Pure lies. He's never got 30 possessions in a match.

I just looked it up and it says his career high is 28 this season against the tigers.

I swear he got 30 atleast once late in 08 though, he finished off that season with much promise.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Grigg he played well below his potenial this season due to injury and there is no point selling players low!

BUY LOW!!!!!!!!
SELL HIGH!!!!!!

Pick 27 and pick 11 for Everitt and their first pick.

I'd trade Grigg to get the deal done. :o :(

HBF, they wouldn't take Fisher and O'hAilpin for Everitt...We wouldn't trade Austin for either of players.

I actually think that's close to on the money.

Need to take into account young Everitt is contracted, therefore a deal better than a 2nd round pick will need to eventuate in order to move him.

Adding Grigg as a sweetener too would tempt the Bulldogs.

However, I remember when Grigg was drafted, many Carlton supporters thought they had a taller, faster, stronger and more skillful version of Pendlebury.

Rumours going around is that he is on the trade table. If true, why?

This is shocking if true. Austin would have to be having a heart transplant or have a very poor attitude or his groins gone terminal surely.

IMO there is so much upside to Aussie I just can't believe the Blues would look at this deal.
I would have thought Fish at a pinch but more likely Setanta. The whole world reckons the bullies need more oomph in their forward line so they could do alot worse than hall and Setanta.

Not that I want Irish to go because he's played his best footy at CHF but if Kruezer and/or Waite move forward I can't see any room for him in the seniors.

This post sums up Denham's article...
Carlton chief executive Greg Swan confirmed yesterday his club's interest in the younger brother of recently retired ruckman Peter Everitt, but declared the Blues would not part with its first-round pick, No11 overall.

To clinch the deal, Swan said the Blues would be prepared to part with a second-round selection, which stands at No27 before the player-exchange period, which begins on October 5.

Surely, the conversation would go something like this...

Denham: So Greg, would Carlton be interested in a player like Everitt from the Dogs? He would be handy for you guys.

Swann: Yeah, we would certainly be interested in any quality young tall, if they were available.

Denham: So what would you have to give up to get a player like Everitt?

Swann: Oh probably a second-rounder.

Denham: Would you do that?

Swann: We would look at it.

No wonder the football media has such a bad reputation.

If it did happen to come down to a choice between trading Austin or Grigg (and not necessarily for Everitt either) I would have to say I'd much rather trade Grigg and keep Austin.

Pick 11 won't be traded. Grigg won't be traded. 100% sure of that. If the deal gets done it'll involve pick 27 plus a player like Fisher and/or a pick upgrade. It's all going to depend on where he wants to go. Because he's in contract, Everitt has to agree to the Club(s) the Bulldogs want to deal with. The fact that Swan has expressed his interest publicly, suggest they're confident he'd like to join the Blues, and they've already had a chat with the Bulldogs. Unlike the regional WA Clubs, the Bulldogs are a sensible and professional outfit when in comes to trade negotiations. Great if he gets to the Blues, BUT ONLY if the price is right. :)

He reminds me of a young Jarrad Waite.

I like the idea of getting him and I would be happy to give our 2nd pick + Fisher for him.

If played in defence, his run and skill level down there would hopefully free up Waite to play more on his terms back and forward.

I would also be happy to give Fish + Our 2nd pick.
Everitt has not been apart of Dogs finals campaign two years in a row so you would assume that Andrejs would be more than happy to come to Carlton..

Josh Kennedy board.

Has Kevin Bartlett announced which out of contract star Richmond is in the 'box seat' to get on SEN yet ??? :D :D :p

I would also be happy to give Fish + Our 2nd pick.

No he hasn't, so why exactly then would The Bulldogs Silver be Gold to us?

He is a good player no doubt, but why are we so happy to throw Grigg and a second rounder for an injury riddled footballer?
(Yes, I know YOU mentioned Fisher but the name Grigg has been thrown in the mix, elsewhere) Sorry.
